Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Now under new management as an Italian called La Verde. Service was suspect, but the staff are clearly inexperienced, so one main course order was taken incorrectly. The Bruschetta and Calamari starters were poor as was the Lasagne main course. Whilst still a nice quality..."feel" to the place , this doesn't justify the higher than expected food and wine prices .More

I have eaten here a fair few times now and have been disappointed by the reviews I had read in the past few days. I only looked at the reviews as it had recently changed owners and was curious to know how it was doing....Today 24/10/23 I visited with family and can confirm I have NO complaints about the quality of the food or the service. There were about 4 tables being served so very quiet. But it is a week day. The price has obviously gone up but so has everything these days. It was £45 for a 3 course lunch. Please continue to support your local restaurant or it will be lost to no doubt another chain.More

Avoid at all costs, over priced and food standards have dropped drastically. I visited the restaurant before a few years back and couldn’t wait to take my girlfriend there to try the amazing food. However, it has changed hands and is no longer the restaurant...I once visited. I feel bad for the waitresses they could visible see that we were waiting to order for 20 minutes but they aren’t allowed to take food orders, only the slow old manager is. He needs to put more trust in his staff, they would be more than capable to take our order, rather than just having them walk around aimlessly. Our food was bland and pretty tasteless, they didn’t even give me a steak knife, even Wetherspoons provide steak knives. I overheard one table questioning why their dish was frozen and the response was, that’s just how it is. It’s really not worth the £100 I paid, so much so, that we left dessert and bought one from Sainsbury’s. Such a shame as I had an amazing meal on my previous visit. The new owners have a lot of rethinking to do, I’d highly recommend training is given to all staff and their businesses model put back to the drawing board.More

We visited Chez Vous on Saturday evening (07/10/23) for a birthday celebration, our first visit since the change of ownership. We’ve been patrons of Chez Vous for over twenty years visiting them to celebrate special occasions. Upon arrival we were asked if we would like...to have a drink in the bar or go straight to our table. We choose to go straight to our table and order drinks from there. This was 7:20pm and I was surprised at the restaurant being only a third full. In the past by this time many of the tables would be occupied. We ordered four drinks which took 20 minutes to be delivered and a few questions were asked of the drinks we had ordered. One of out party ordered the beef fillet and had to ask the waiting staff for a steak knife when his meal arrived. Throughout the evening the waiting staff were seen aimlessly walking around the restaurant, not appearing to know what they should be doing. The food we ordered was of good quality, but the portions of the starters and desserts were slightly smaller than previous occasions. The real disappointment came when the bill was requested, only to find that they were trying to charge us for three different bottles of wine, we had in fact only had one very expensive bottle of Shiraz (£49.95), later established to be over a 400% markup!! Naturally the bill was challenged, and I requested the service charge be deleted as well. The rectified bill was paid and whilst the payment was being taken, the member of the party whose birthday it was, was asked if everything had been OK? When he started reeling off the number of issues encountered, you could clearly tell that the person asking was not really interested. Overall experience was very disappointing and such a shame to see a restaurant that was one of the best in the area, fall so far. The most positive experience of the evening happened whilst we were walking to our car in the car park, and one of the Chef’s came round the corner, thanked us for our custom and wished us a safe journey home.More

Our first to Chez Vous since it’s takeover, obviously we’ll miss Martin and Laurent at the helm and Chris and Richard in the Restaurant, the new staff have developed into a treat under the management of Ludovic, service as always was very attentive. Our food...was delicious and a well balanced menu along with a great match of wines on selection, we enjoyed the beetroot cheesecake, Salmon Gravlax and to follow the Pan Fried Calves Liver and Sea Bream, couldn’t fault our meal 10/10. We are looking forward to booking again with you in two weeks for our daughter’s 21st birthday celebration.More

Worst experience in a restaurant for a long time. New owners new poor standards. The food was bland and unappetizing. I sent my starter back because it was so poor. Pub food standard. Service was slow, inexperienced or defensive and testy. When management asked and...we're told the food was terrible the only feedback they wanted was payment. A sober night I wish to forget. Avoid.More

Superb: from first contact with Ludovic, right through to when we left. Nothing was too much trouble, the food was delicious. All the staff are wonderful. What an amazing find this restaurant is the best in the area, we have tried them all and the...food and service is easily superior in our opinion. I have brought business clients here in the past. The menu is amazing, so hard to choose. However we chose very well. Escargot de Bourgogne. Then we had The Braised Pork Belly, The Pan Fried Calves Liver, again absolutely delicious. Not only was the food delicious, it looked beautiful. The staff were absolutely lovely and so attentive but not over the top. We finished with two Irish Coffees We would highly recommend Chez Vous to everyone. We will be back very soon that is for sure. Thanks, we can’t wait to see you all again soon.More

Went for a friend’s birthday. New menu offers excellent quality and slightly better range. Owner suggested we chose a cheaper bottle of wine than the Chablis we were about to have - one we’d had before. It was better. Only thing that compares to this...establishment is Chapter One in Bromley. Would recommend Chez Vous instead.More

We visited for our wedding anniversary as it was recommended. It didn’t disappoint. Husband had the Brie and leek starter and I had the the king prawn with crab. OMG. We loved it. Then husband had the calves liver (which melted in the mouth) and...I had sea bream. Amazing. It’s not often we agree on things but could not fault the food. If this wasn’t enough, we had the parfait and choux bun for dessert. Can categorically say that this was one of the best meals we have ever had. Lot of love went into every single dish. Will definitely go back. Highly recommend the Piquepoul teret wine. So smooth. Staff were so friendly and very professional too. 5 Star. Not overpriced for the quality we had.More

I recently attended the first ever "Murder Mystery" evening at this stunning restaurant. I recommend you go as a party rather than just a couple as it adds to the fun. The food was absolutely delicious (as always) and the entertainment brilliant from start to...finish, with interaction by the actors at the table. But NOT, I hasten to add, while you were eating. The whole event was something very different and provided us all with an evening we shall remember for a very long time. All the staff were simply first class throughout. An absolute pleasure. Absolutely wonderful evening, my first visit to this great restaurant and certainly will not be the last. I went with a friend who I have known for 55 years and we have dined together on many occasions. We had lovely cocktails in the lounge area...where we perused the menu and wine list. It was so hard to choose from the many and varied items. Our food was fantastic, especially the desserts, the staff were happy to discuss our choices and gave us excellent service throughout . We both said one of the best timeswe have had.I have no hesitation in recommending Chez Vous for a food experience at its best. Enjoy!!!More

My friend and I visited Chez Vous for dinner last night and we were not disappointed! We were very well looked after from the minute we arrived. Every course of our food was delicious and the Picpoul that we ordered to accompany our food was...lovely. I had the new menu dish of pork medallions and my friend had the calves liver. We would highly recommend both. However, the desserts were the very best thing we ate! Bread and butter pud and Choux with apples were both to die for! My friend is a very fussy eater and delighted with all her choices, so thank you Chez Vous. We thoroughly enjoyed your food and the attentive service. We will be back!More

Tasteless cod, Tasteless garlic spinach, even an absence of seasoning on the table. The table was left with bread crumbs scattered all over a dark table, throughout dining experience. Very noisy with a party of 24 people in addition to normal crowd.Felt like being in...a rowdy pub. Overpriced and overrated. Fine dining prices however, the standards were generally no where near what you would call 'fine dining' Don't be fooled by the reviews, we were :(More

Flawless service. Superb food. Good choice on the menu of food and drinks. Chez Vous has a well deserved excellent reputation. Attentive, immaculately presented, knowledgeable staff. Elegant and comfortable restaurant. There were eight of us: it was lovely to sit round a large square table,...two each side which I prefer to long tables with four each side. The staff gave the impression that it mattered to them that we had a wonderful evening which we certainly did. Comfortable bar area for pre dinner drinks. I must just mention again that the food really is superb. Everyone raved about their choices. It's definitely the place for a special occasion.More
