Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I had breakfast with my friend yesterday, we arrived at around 9.40 but it was closed, opening times are a little conflicting on website (states 9am when you click on menu) the breakfast was good but bacon was anaemic and lots of fatty rind and...egg wasn’t the best but was still tasty and good ingredients used. Service was friendly and I will visit again.More

I am from the local area and a big supporter of local businesses, I also emailed the owner and received no response hence the review . I had a poached egg with avocado on toast and a pot of tea , I was charged £14.50...!! The owner charged me £5 for a pot of tea and stuck 10 percent service charge on top which was not clearly advertised. The owner does not operate in an open and transparent way and over charges . I asked for my receipt which I was not provided with . I would strongly advise if you do go there to request an itemised receipt. I will never return!!More

Had a late breakfast here this morning with my wife and our 3 year old grandson, although only a stones throw away from home we’ve never paid a visit. As it turns out it was our loss for many years, lovely setting and scenery the...sun was out which made it even better topped by a hearty breakfast and a three year olds thumbs up approval we will certainly return great service, we will head back for sure.More

Very much a hidden gem. Wonderful, warm personal welcome from the proprietor. When you arrive you get the sense that you’ve been expected. Excellent service. Broad menu choices & beautiful view from our table. Very dog friendly. Unpretentious. The cake and coffee looked great. We...will go back.More

Not recommended, the food was badly cooked, lukewarm and unappetising. The owner loud and pushy. We left as quickly as possible. The food was totally overpriced. We went on recommendation but maybe ownership has changed since then.

Independ Cafe. With honest homemade food. In really homely setting with welcoming service. A totally hiden gem and the added bouns of being an independent with honest values putting customer service and quality food at it heart. Worth a visit. You won't regret it.

This Cafe is, has been said by others, a hidden gem! It is a little off the beaten track, but very near to the lovely Hastings Country Park. We came for lunch here on a truly dreadful Sunday afternoon, but the view offered from the...large picture windows in the conservatory is impressive, especially on a lovely day. We visited for the first time a couple of weeks ago when the weather was much better. Steve, the owner, greeted us warmly, and was very amenable. The food we chose (Sausages & Mash and Roast Beef) was delicious, and the portions just right, meaning we just about had room for a “shared” Lemon Meringue Pie and Ice Cream, again delicious. We definitely recommend, and hope to return!More

We had lunch here and they have a great variety of different items on offer. I had an excellent cheese scone with extra cheese on the side and chutney which was lovely. The lemon drizzle cake is very nice too. The owner is very friendly...and I hope to return next time I am in the area.More

Walking into the door, we were given a warm welcome by Steve, the owner. It was a warm sunny day, so we sat in the greenhouse, Steve kindly opened the windows and we were kissed by lovely sea air. Steve recommended the Long Man Helles...lager, and it was a delight. We both opted for a Sunday Roast(it was Tuesday!), we weren’t disappointed by our choices of the beef and lamb. A sweet, we had apple crumble, wonderful. Steve is a gentleman, excellent service, our fellow travellers were friendly and welcoming, what’s more to love? Bottom line, we will return and cannot recommend this off the beaten track jewel highly enough!More
