Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Exceptional cuisine ! A pure delicious journey with Chef Pascal Bardet. The restaurant is beautiful, the staff is so attentive and all the presentations are stunning. It’s a pure bliss and magical culinary experience. The restaurant is nested on such a gorgeous hill.

Open again after the lockdown and I am pleased to say that they are back with same very high standard. We thought the food the very best and the team in the restaurant as knowledgeable and friendly as they were. The setting is great, both...the exterior when weather permits and the interior is very elegant. The choices and combinations on the menus will satisfy most everyone. Quiet busy today at lunch, wednesday 23rd June. Booking is a good idea. We will be back.More

Our evening was a stunning experience of wonderfully served, outstanding food and wine in a beautiful location. This is outstanding gastronomic theatre delivered without any of the traditional stuffiness or snobbery associated with many high end restaurants. Discovery of new flavours and combinations, accompanied by...wines selected by the sommelier. Merci encore beaucoup a Pascal et a Sandrine Bardet pour cette experience et pour leur super acceuil. This restaurant is probably the finest in the region, and there are some worthy competitors. It has been an outstanding restaurant for many years, but the level was elevated a few years back when the new chef-proprietor took over after the retirement of the previous...chef. He is a highly trained chef who cooks with great finesse. His wife who is in charge of the dining room assures meticulous service. The setting is charming--an old school house transformed into a modern and up-to-date dining room with a beautiful shaded terrace overlooking the countryside for drinks or dining in fine weather. All this in a tiny and lovely village "in the middle of nowhere". After numerous memorable meals there it is highly recommended.More

Situated in a small, attractive village in the Lot boasting an ancient church and some quaint cottages the restaurant is perched part way up a hill with lovely views from the Chesnut shaded terrace. The 19th century building is of honey stone, sympathetically extended and...full of charming features. We had been in the past but had never tried the restaurant under its new owners so as we usually do opted for the simpler 42 euro lunch menu to give it a try out. Canapes with the aperos were superb and the amuse bouche of a chesnut soup, laced with brebi cheese, celery and bits of chesnut was stunning. This boded well. Frog legs with baby vegetables in a herb sauce followed, these were stunning. Main course was stuffed quail with fondant root vegetable in a slightly acidic rich sauce which perfectly complimented the meat. Best quail I have eaten. Dessert was a mango and coconut gateau with white chocolate served with mango sorbet and a coulis of passion fruit. The sweetness was offset by the tangyness of the coulis and simply looked like a work of art. Coffee came with mignardises and the highlight of these was a ball of chocolate which was smashed at table to reveal candied nuts and apricots Fabulous wine list with reasonable priced choices for a 2 star establishment. In all with a glass of champagne (premier cru), a non alcoholic cocktail, canapes, amuse bouche, three courses, a good bottle of Madiran coffee and accompaniments the bill was approx £130 which we thought extremely good value for money. Service was as professional as you would expect but friendly and welcoming. We will be going again, a great experience. Make a detour it's between Catus and Prayssac you won't regret it.More

The second star hasn't led to an increase in prices. The menu is as exquisite as ever: just sad that one can't eat everything on one visit. The soufflé is as always a delight and the sommelier is most helpful. An evening to treasure.
