Visited here the other month as my dad goes every Sunday for the carvery dinner and he told me I must try it so we did and what a pleasant surprise, good quality food and decent portions, looks grubby outside but not bad inside, overall a good value Sunday dinner, very friendly staff and good atmosphere, will go back.

The poor Marton Hotel has seen much better days. Very very run down and in poor condition throughout. Staff unmotivated and with good reason. It does t look like any money has been spent on the building or its interior for decades. It's in a prime position but just sad.

This place was once (probably 1970) a very nice place, but it's an absolute dump. Where it's located it could be a real gold mine, located on the edge of a huge residential area with few options for a night out, and on a major A174 / A172 junction, however with its tatty and totally worn out decoration and furniture,... Came here for sunday lunch and wouldn't rush back, the full place needs decorating from top to bottom, wall paper hanging off the walls where your eating your dinner and does not put out the right message, toilets need a good clean out as well and thats being nice!!!

after reading reviews about this hotel we were very apprehensive of staying there. I did ring the hotel and was assured we were in a re-furbished room. The hotel does in all respect look grim but our room was ok-not posh but adequate.Must say the girls were absolutely lovely. The food excellent-much better than food we had had in some... More

Went for Sunday Carvery. Shocked at the state of the place-still has the same decoration it had in the 70s. Threadbare carpets, filthy radiators, peeling window frames etc etc The food :- Meat was ok although they only serve beef gravy. Not nice on turkey!!! The veg were overcooked. I don't think the owners ever read this site.

Sunday lunch, the price is reasonable , the meat is good , but the veg is of poor quality, over done and sloppy ,served in stainless steel containers lined in plastic ? Why . The service is good , but the overall setting of the entire place is disgraceful and needs refurbishing , it's a far cry from its hay... More
