We had an excellent meal, food, service ambiance etc were all great. We have been here several times over the past few years, each time a very good experience. Each time we visit we have a moan about the chairs, nothing seems to be change....They are not that clean, and generally quite uncomfortable. Please either clean and redo, or swap out for a more comfortable chair.More

We visited on a Saturday in August. Found it very loud. Not for me, but if you like to use a megaphone to converse with your neighbour and be videoed (twice) without your consent, it could be right up your alley. The food might well...be very good and the reason we went was because the menu looked great, but as we couldn’t hold a conversation - due to the excessive volume of the music - we didn’t stay to try it. Wow! A fabulous night was had by the whole family. I ordered the Filet Steak and to be perfectly honest the piece of meat served was probably the best I have had in a good whole! Chef had cooked it to my exact requirements and...the taste on the food really was nothing short of excellent. We all seemed to try different dishes and everyone was complimentary about their food. We three gluttoneers invaded this superb eatery on Thursday night and weren't disappointed. You travel along a rustic sort of lane and are welcomed through its inviting doors. The decor remains unchanged: an airy mix of light-coloured tiles, large windows, and recessed lighting. As you...enter, slightly to your right, there's a full-bar with seating. We were greeted by a delightful waitress, and James - proprietor extraordinaire, and Luis. It was great catching up with them again. We were shown to a window table - perfect. Bathed in lovely background music and armed with a couple Aperol Spritz and a Pornstar Martini, we made our selection from quite a varied menu that should suit most palates. Two of us went for the Mango al Granchio, and one went for the calves' liver; it was perfectly presented and prepared: the calves' liver was full of flavour, and the Mango al Granchio was refreshing and the contrasting flavours of mango and fresh crab were exquisite on the palate. Our mains comprised of a Spaghetti al Granchio, and two of us went for the Spaghetti alla Quindici: it was out of this world in flavour and texture. This culinary extravaganza was baptised with a perfectly chilled Sauvignon Blanc, and it complemented our meal superbly. We then found room for a shared cheese board with a Port and a pleasant red, while one of us demolished a chocolate brownie. This gastronomic feast was concluded with a lit Sambuca, a Limoncello, a cappuccini, black Americano, and a lemon tea. Plus, we had a complimentary Sambuca and Limoncello, courtesy of our gracious hosts. Our compliments to their chefs for their artistry in the 'hot room', and a huge 'thank you' for the pleasant banter, chat, and laughter. Really, this eatery is a benchmark in cuisine, friendliness, and service. Nothing could be better than to relax in such a welcoming world and to leave the stresses of everyday life behind. Surely has to be the goto restaurant in Loughton, especially if you want Italian food. Good food, good wine, good service, what's not to like? I have been several times in the last year and never been disappointed.

Called mid afternoon on Saturday for a 2pm table on Sunday and was lucky enough to get it - this venue is so popular. Visited with the in-laws and we all arrived on time and were made feel very welcome. Our table was excellent and...we ordered drinks very swiftly. The food was even better than I remember it being and the service was faultless. If you are in the area and lucky enough to get a table then this is a must visit restaurant! Enjoy Guys!More
