We visited for lunch on a freezing day and were greeted by lovely friendly staff and roaring log fires - our dog was welcomed. The service was great and the staff were very attentive and pleasant. The main course arrived and it was delicious and...More

This looks like a normal country pub albeit in an upmarket east lakes village. A nice range of beers and helpful friendly EU staff. The menu understated the excellence of the food. I had the best steak pie ever, packed with really tender beef. Well...More

Top quality food. Tested the Duck and the Lamb Shank, as well as the soup of the day and the Cumbria plate! Mains were delicious, so was the soup. The starter plate was quite good, not as impressive as the mains though.

Traditional old pub in a nice location with very good pub food and good english ale. Would recommend the belly pork, superbly cooked with well rendered fat and crispy crackling. What makes this a cut above is the little extras, with tasty chorizo mash and...More
