Simple menu - but a choice for everyone, beef; fish; lamb; duck willing to cater to GF or DF choices. Lovely, appealing presentation, and warm comfortable server. Attentive and helpful without overdoing it. Mussels, Duck and beef dishes were delicious and just the right sizes....More

Neat spot on a side street in downtown Canmore. Impeccable Server. Presentation was amazing! Top marks for appetizers (one of the BEST bruschetta EVER), dessert was exceptionally delicious. The mains were OK, but sadly, the weakest part of the meal. Mains: Lamb somewhat undercooked, Fish...More

My mom and I ate here for her 70th birthday. We came on a Thursday so it was less busy than the weekend. The food, and staff, and setting were all amazing.

I've eaten at the Trough many times. Each and every time I have received a level of service which is above most other places I have been. Like Richard the owner making a point of visiting our table to ensure that everything was just right....More

Went here for dinner while staying with friends in Canmore. We had a party of seven and it was a very enjoyable evening. This small restaurant in an alleyway was chosen by our friends who live in Canmore and it was an excellent choice. We...More

Probably better to ask the restaurant directly - they may have kids coming through on a regular basis. Unless these other patrons are paying for your meal, it's not up to them whether you bring your kids.
