My wife has died and gone to heaven. As a Celiac, she is always hunting for Gluten-free options. This little place is great. A big selection of foods and the staff are more than happy to answer any questions. Try it out. I don't think that you'll be unhappy.

This local bakery is a real gem. Located in a small town it really surprised us as to the quality of baked goods they make and sell. Real Belgian chocolate makes the brownies to die for. It's a great spot to grab a coffee and sit outside on their patio area in the sunshine while enjoying a fresh baked goodie.... More

What wonderful accolades...thank you. For anyone who has not visited our artisanal bakery and café, come and be transported away to distant places you have travelled to before. It begins before you even enter the front doors by being greeted with the aroma of the most delicious hand-made breads, cakes, pies and pastries waiting for you inside. Come in and... More

This is a nice place to go for coffee and enjoy some fresh baked goods. Some gluten free. Coffee is a bit pricey. Wish there was something in sooke open in an evening tho- I would be able to enjoy it a lot more!

Thanks for coming in and enjoying our special spot. Higher quality does indeed cost more money and so our prices do reflect the fact that we use the best ingredients to create the lovely foods and drinks we provide on a daily basis. Interestingly we have explored the option of staying open on some evenings, and may consider doing it... More

So happy to know you love our food! We make everything fresh from scratch every day, and we definitely do not believe in having pre-processed items coming in through the back door off of some truck and then served out the front door. Similarly, our daily soups have never seen the inside of a can, and are made fresh each... More

Nice place to have breakfast or lunch. Or just pick something up from bakery. Their gluten free bread is amazing and so is the owner. Very friendly and supportive of community.

It's quite incredible how our gluten free line has evolved over the years! Customers have asked, and we delivered on converting over half of our product lines over to be gluten free, as well as egg free, dairy free, nut free, low sodium, etc. Combine that with fresh locally sourced organic ingredients as well as being 100% non-GMO, and you'll... About once a month my wife just has to have her fix. Cinnamon schnekies from the Little Vienna are to die for. Great bakery, had a friend who was originally from Vienna and she confirmed this is the real deal..

Yes, please come back for a slice of pie! We have a reputation of making the best in town and in fact just last week during Thanksgiving were sold out of our organic pumpkin pies within hours of opening (and we made over 40 of them)! We also made apple, pear, cranberry, and a number of other varieties that day,... More

Went there on the way back to the ferry. The staff very friendly and the smell around the bakery amazing. My husband had a pastry but he said it was a wee bit stale. I had a café latte and it was great. I am difficult with those so for this reason I would go back there.

We appreciate your visit and comments. With everything in our bakery being made fresh each day, I believe your husbands pastry wasn't stale, but rather was one of our gluten-free products which tends to be a bit more dry due to a lack of butter in the recipe. Hope to see you back again soon! More

This is a wonderful bakery with a beautiful little garden, nice fresh coffee and delicious baked goods. Love the flourless chocolate cake!

Thanks! You can stack our flourless chocolate cake against any of our flour-based cakes and be equally pleased with their deliciousness! Every once in a while I'll have a slice of the flourless chocolate cake with a large dollop of cinnamon and cognac infused whipped cream......very sinful! Hehehe. More

Description
A meeting place, cafe, bistro, and so much more. Little Vienna Bakery is owned and operated by Susan & Michael Nyikes. Their vision has been to create an authentically European bakery in Sooke that provides artisan breads, pastries and cakes using only the very best ingredients and old-world techniques. Having established a strong reputation for fresh, all-natural products and a loyal following of customers over the past 10 years, the Nyikes’ draw upon their own European backgrounds and travels throughout the world to continue the evolution of Little Vienna Bakery. Having professionally trained and dedicated staff members in place, maintaining a very high level of quality ingredients and baking techniques, and providing consistent quality products has continued the success of the business. Little Vienna Bakery offers beautiful hand-formed artisan breads, buns and baguettes, as well as lovingly prepared decadent pastries, pies and cakes…..and yes, everything is made “fresh-from-scratch” using only the finest ingredients; the majority of which are locally sourced and organic.More than just baked goods, the bakery also offers a unique selection of fine cheeses, market & deli items, an expansive breakfast & lunch menu, specialty coffees & teas. It’s important to note that the bakery also caters to those with special dietary needs and also produce vegetarian, gluten, dairy, sodium and sugar free items. Susan & Michael have completely renovated the interior of Little Vienna Bakery to be authentically European; complete with new full-length Baroque-style mirrors, gold chandeliers, ornate crown mouldings, period-correct furniture, and a collection of hand-painted Austrian murals by world-renowned French artist Philippe Metaireau who was specially commissioned for the bakery. To help bring the inside ambiance to the outdoors, the owners have also developed a stunning 600 square foot paving-stone courtyard complete with a beautifully ornate 3 tiered Italianate fountain, all set within the expansive raised flower gardens on the bakery grounds. Whether it’s crepes for breakfast with a loved one, lunch with a group of friends, or a coffee and dessert with a good book, everyone is welcome to enjoy the beautiful spaces that have been created at Little Vienna Bakery. Please come by and have an incredible experience where all your senses will be stimulated!
