I hadn't been to the Blue Toque for years and was delighted to find that it is in the same location, and still serving up great food. Eggs of all sorts, poutine, eggs benny, and all sorts of dietary accommodations can be made. I had a vegetarian (maybe vegan?) dish and it was just fabulous. And filling. Good food, good... More

Visited on Jan. 21, 2017. Apparently the restaurant has only recently started serving dinner, having previously been a breakfast and lunch spot. Small restaurant, really interesting, quiet atmosphere in the old railway station. Very nice original artwork on the walls for sale. The menu had very good variety and interesting options, including good gluten free dishes. Asian and N. American... More

Apparently a lot of people attending our wedding in Fernie ate here, so on their advice we stopped in after the big day. I know why they stopped! Great food and amazing personal service. Oh and the chocolate pecan pie, that was an excellent finish.

For an amazing eat-in breakfast this is our first choice. Amazing coffee and a very unique menu makes the Blue Toque a great choice. Vegan options make this a very popular place and the wait can often be long on weekends but the small cafe vibe makes it worth the wait.

We decided to try this restaurant. The waitress was nice enough but when it came to ordering I asked if I could have cheddar cheese rather than swiss on my pastry. I was told the kitchen would not make amendments. My daughter asked for no mushrooms with her meal and was asked if this was because she had an allergy... More

Thank you Fiona for your feedback and also for giving us an opportunity to further explain our "no amendments" policy. The menu features 8 fully custom items that can be adapted to suit your tastes and also altered to satisfy any allergies or sensitivities. We introduced these onto the menu a few years back to address the growing trend of... More

Super-interesting menu in this casual diner in the Fernie Arts Station, right on the train tracks. Lunch items range from eggs benny-style, to soul bowl healthy eats to sandwiches. Also omelettes. Everything comes with either tons of fruit or hash potatoes. Dinner menu is super-interesting ranging from gourmet mac 'n cheese to Asian bowls to pot pies. Nice ambience. Check... More

We eat at the Toque regularly for Breakfast, lunch or Brunch. It's location is ideal and the food is made from scratch and so good. Because it is homemade, it does take a little longer in the prep, but it is worth the wait. Tonight we went for dinner. They are open Thursdays through Saturdays for dinner during the winter... This place does breakfast and lunch. It's located in the historic train station a short distance from the CPR mainline tracks. Sure enough, a train came by while we were dining to add that authentic atmosphere. The dining area is small but we had no trouble getting a mid-morning table. We made a reservation but the place was only about... More

Thank you Rick for your kind review. I'd like to clarify for other readers that we do not accept reservations. It is my guess that Rick's group signed up on the waiting list which allows diners a call back service if there is a line-up. More
