This pub was closed last night at 6pm. I suggest people check before they visit as they seem to decide when they open!

Food was fantastic as usual, lots of flavour, good attentive staff. The roast pork with crackling always a star for us as a family, looking forward to Easter Sunday!

Me and my friends came here after our football match, the sun was shinning and we had to stop there. The staff were lovely and it had an amazing garden, they sell food but we did not stay. Next time I will be be staying longer, highlight recommend, hopefully the food is as good as everything else.

We were out and about doing our Sunday chores when we decided to pop into the Chestfield Barn for lunch . A stunning looking Tudor barn was equally as glorious on the inside . We opted for a starter to share of whitebait which was beautifully presented on a slate. This was followed by a generous roast dinner .. I... More

Used to visit The Barn a lot until it dropped off. Returned recently, arrived approx 19:45 and the two of us made six customers. At 20:40 we were asked if we wanted another drink, if so, now would be a good time as they were closing at 21:00 due to lack of custom. We left, no atmosphere, no customer skills,... More

Description
The Chestfield Barn originated as part of the Chestfield Manor in the 14th Century, a possession of the half-brother of William the Conqueror, Odo, Bishop of Bayeaux. It is believed that the Manor dates back to as early as 1084, particularly as it is mentioned in the Doomsday Book of 1086. In the early part of the 20th Century the barn was converted in to a golf house by Abe Mitchell to service the 700 acre golf course constructed in 1924 by George Reeves. The 14th Century barn is now a pub restaurant offering a traditional and contemporary menu of freshly prepared dishes using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
