Very dissapointed with the lunch. Who ever took our booking never wrote it down so when we got there we had to wait for a table, 2:30 they had already ran out of Turkey. The only vegi option was sausages, very very small portions only...3 veg and no stuffing with the pork. Not what it used to be like years ago. We came away starving. And they did offer and childrens meals other than roast. Staff where all friendly enough.More

The waitress was lovely as usual, very sadly the owner was incredibly rude from the moment we walked in and until we left. This man does not believe Covid 19 is an issue at all. We were mocked as soon as we entered as we...were wearing masks. Being told " you are not here to rob me are you," continuing to make disparaging remarks about us to other customers throughout our stay, is NOT a way to greet and treat patrons. We wear our masks to not only protect ourselves but to protect others as well. My husband and I are both disabled and have serious health issues, if we caught Covid, it would cause us severe harm. This is the first establishment we have ever been in, where we have been concerned that the correct protocol's have not been adhered to. When I went to pay for our meals, my card is not contactless, he wanted to take my card (which I refused), the machine was dirty, I put my pin numbers in and he tried to remove my card, I told him that I would remove it. I sanitized my hands and card as soon as I left. I am Welsh and have lived in the area since 1987, the disparaging and sexist remarks heard throughout our visit were not acceptable. We will take our custom elsewhere in the locality, where we know it will be appreciated.More

what an awful experience, arrived at 2.15 as booked for my husbands 60th birthday ,told to sit at table 8 which we had to look for . At 2.30 nobody stopped to take our order didnt even look at us .by then husband sent to ask...do we order at the bar ,they sent a waitress it turned out there were several tables that where there before us had not ordered however placed order .by 3pm waitress comes to tell us run out of beef ,30 minutes later mind ok told alternative 10 mins later food started coming out ,table behind us 1st could here something going on customer complained about no potatoes, told they had run out .however 55 mins from arrival we had our lunch in front of us , meat ,Yorkshire pudding,no roast ,no stuffing ,out came a turine of 3 veg gravy that's it no potatoes ,we didnt even get told they'd run out , By then I'd had enough ,just eat and get out of here , Several customers complained of service very slow was told lack of staff ,ok,but why couldnt they of warned people as arriving that there was a massive delay because of staff shortages and give us the choice if we wanted to wait that long or not , no I would of not waited as we were on a time limit . After all that charged 12.50 each dinner ,was certainly not worth the money. And that's without the massive delay . Obviously will not be returning ,very poorly run . customer service appalling .More

Recommended by friends who live local, so we thought we give it a try after good reviews. Booked a table for two, arrived at 7.25. Had to be told at the bar to go to one of the available tables and someone would be with...us. Given a menu at 7.40pm, still no drinks. At 7.50pm a table for 8 (obviously regulars) next to us walked in and were served immediately and orders taken. At this point we got up and walked out, even the young waiter and waitress totally ignored us. We won't be coming back as we don't like being ignored.More

We stopped here on the way home after a day visiting Newquay and aberaeron. It was quite quite but it was the Tuesday after new year . The lady who greeted us was lovely and very helpful. Our food was home cooked and fresh and...we were both very happy with our meals. This lovely pub deserves to do well.More

The ribeye was out of this world. Food piping hot and fresh.Homemade chips and onion rings, amazing. Lovely atmosphere. Gents singing in the back ground welsh songs for a birthday meal. Made it fabulous. Will definitely stop off again.

Absolutely lovely traditional pub. Really gorgeous food, fresh and deliciously made. Amazing portions as well that reflect the prices. Only let down for me was cleanliness. Especially during these times. Dust bunnies and cobwebs in corners and glasses not as clean as they should be...but apart from that everything was lovely, staff, outside area and car park can’t be faulted. Will definitely be returning when holidaying in the vicinity again!More

Not very welcoming, no one came to help us find our seat when we came in. Once seated and given a menu we waited for 30 minutes and no one came to see us, most waiters spent the majority of the time in the kitchen...and we were unable to order food despite trying to get their attention. Additionally, the food and decoration seemed a lot like a Wetherspoons (which of course is fine) but the prices ranged from £12.95 to £15 or £20/£25 for a steak! Despite the large portion sizes this seemed way too expensive for what it was. A lot of the food that was on the online menu was no longer served. Ended up leaving as no one would come to see us.More
