Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Unfortunately there are no toilet facilities here. The public toilets are locked at this time of year and the car park toilets were flooded and unusable. We went in to order as the selection seemed OK but did not stay as we had to go...to the only open pub to use their toilets and stayed in there! Please sort your toilet situation out Polruan.More

We have been visiting Jam First during our holidays for a while now. Absolutely love it. Coffee the best and food freshly made. Staff are friendly and accommodating with nothing being too much trouble. It's nice to know staff remember us and called us 'The...Cappuccinos'. Would recommend this cafe to anyoneMore

Jam first is a traditional Cornish café (in Devon it’s cream first) - excellent breakfast and brunch, I usually get mine bespoke and am never disappointed. If you’re in Polruan, pop in Jam first for a friendly snack.

Food is simple but good.well worth a visit .they also do takeaway. Not only that you can take food...brought from the cafe and eat it in the Russell pub next door .WHATS NOT TO LIKEMore

When we visited there were no indoor table - you ordered at a window and collected from a doorway. The sandwiches were made up fresh so you could order what you wanted. They were good quality, reasonably priced and served quite quickly. We took them...away and ate on picnic tables overlooking the harbour.More

We were in Polruan for four days at the end of March They only offered a take away service from 8.30am to 1.30pm Monday to Saturday I guess most of their customers come from the shipyard Expect a bit of a wait but the Breakfast...Baps are very good They do have a sit down area which may be open later in the year We were self catering and the options in Polruan are very limited so the short hours and limited menu was disappointingMore

This cafe is now called Jam First, we had the Jam First box, which is scones, clotted cream and Strawberry Jam in a take away box. Quality of the contents was good, the jam was Tiptree and the scones were light. What was a slight...surprise was the inclusion of tea bags but no offer of a take away tea, was told the tea bags were "complimentary".More

After ordering a cake and a gluten free brownie, the server tried to put them in the same bag. I quickly stopped her and asked for a separate bag. Obviously annoyed by this, she put the brownie down on a board covered in crumbs. When...she attempted to put that one in a bag for me, I pointed out that it was now no longer gluten free. Obviously annoyed again, she put that one back kn the pile and gave me a different one, and didn't change the tongs. I came out feeling like I was being awkward, which is not very nice.More
