Great food in a buzzing country pub served by very friendly waiter. Only problem is parking but were lucky this time and managed to find a space in the car park.

We picked this pub from the trip advisor reviews and were not disappointed. We were a large party of 13 celebrating my dads 80th birthday so wanted somewhere special. We had a large party menu to pre order from and the meal was served swiftly and efficiently by lovely staff. We had a large table at the end of the... More

I occasionally visit with my family and have never been disappointed, everyone always has a fantastic meal and the food delicious - always cooked fresh to order. Is a real shame there aren't more dog friendly tables as would come much more often if this was the case.

Lovely food , excellent tentative staff in a very quaint setting . I can defiantly recommend the fillet steak and the garlic mushroom starter . I would imagine this would be a lovely place to visit a Christmas . Totally charming . We will defiantly return .

A pal of mine treated me to lunch ,we headed for the red lion ,although their website advised open when we arrived closed. Headed for the Saracens head ,never been before ...WOW...I had Goan fish ,paranoid curry...absolutely awsome.

Lovely atmosphere. Good service. Good menu choice and excellent prosecco. Good portion size and excellent value for money. Would definitely return. Would have liked a few cocktails on the menu and my chips a bit crispier.

As above. Shame about the GKA Greene King Average beer. Food service people superb. So Saracens Head go into Derby and find some decent beer. Ban people bringing their IPADs with them more specifically playing loud videos on them. Whats wrong with talking to one another? Then perfect

Great food and service. Prices are very reasonable too. Will definitely return! The fish curry is perfect as is the lamb.

Visited today on recommendation.used the on line booking and arrived very early but staff very accommodating and took us to our table. Staff were very good, work hard and to be honest I have eaten in some very pricey restaurants that do not have attentive staff like they have here. The food was excellent. At last a place when you pay... More

Tucked away in what feels like the middle of nowhere (though is actually just a few minutes from the main road) is this ancient pub. Nothing dusty about its menu though, perfectly pink lamb in a to-die-for gravy, goan fish curry and fish & chips that made me jealous of my 5 year old. Booking not just advised, it is... More
