If you are looking for a spacious bar with sprawling rooms and trendy fizzy drinks, don't look here. This place probably hasn't changed in the last 70 years and neither should it. Drank some fantastic beers and ciders. the best for years. All served from a tiny bar and drank in cramped rooms, great !

Dropped in on a Tuesday lunchtime in May - fairly busy so I imagine very busy in the summer. Had meat pasty, cheese and vegetable pie and Dorset apple cake. All very good and the beer was excellent. Ideal place to refuel if walking the coastal walk, just be aware this is a pub as they used be, two wood... More

This pub has a lot of character and the staff are very friendly. It is always busy whenever you go, but as most people linger outside there is always lots of room. The food choices are limited - pasties (homemade and award winning), Dorset apple cake and ice cream. It is famous for its home made cider and beer. Worth... More

This was so busy it was difficult to get into the bar and there was little time to ponder the vast array of ciders. Nonetheless we had a decent pint of cider in the beer garden. It has a huge reputation and is almost more popular than it can deal with on a bright Saturday in May.

Dropped in for a light lunch after a recommendation. Querky traditional pub with a hatch, not a bar. Nice range of beer and cider and small menu which was fine for us.

Quirky pub with fossil museum and anthropological finds. Menu very limited if one does not like pies or pasties. My sister had the cloudy cider brewed at the pub and could not drink it, nor could I, very unpleasant to our taste but perhaps in keeping with the rustic ambiance of the place.

A quaint local that dispenses a nice pint and some traditional pub fare. There's even a tiny museum with an alligator, don't ask me why. A great place to sit outside with a pint and look over the countryside you just walked.

This is a very different pub, serving a few beers and ciders through a hatch, no real bar. There are a couple of rooms, but the best part is outside looking at the sea in the distance. The only food they serve are a couple of different pasties.

This place is so cool - the ciders are lovely, the pub itself is quirky (and very busy), and it features a museum of someone's collection of fossils, beach finds and taxidermy. We sat on a church pew looking at flint axe heads supping delicious pints. The outside seating is fantastic with huge lumps of oak and geological formations for... More
