Lovely little village pub. We had dinner a few nights there and each time it was very tasty . Extremely friendly staff but unfortunately the lovely tenets are leaving. Such a shame as really friendly people. I'm sure they are going to be missed
Excellent food, good varied menu, perfect situation at the end of Gunnerside walk, highly recommend this place
What a lovely friendly pub at the start/finish of many walking route. Cosy, friendly staff just what I’d hoped for for a quick drink after walking Gunnerside Gill circuit.
Lovely menu which has slight changes daily. Bring colouring things etc for your child though. Dogs allowed in. Booking advised if eating
A lovely small pub in this small village. It has a great range of drinks and a varied menu, not a traditional village pub menu. The Steak and Ale Pie was not great, far too much Thyme resulting in lot's of stalks and thyme leaves,...maybe I had the bottom of the pan?More
Highly recommend the Kings Head. We had many great evening meals. Varied menu and competitively priced. Local ales on tap. Friendly staff, will visit again soon.
Nice roast beef on a Sunday. Thoroughly enjoyed. Closed Monday and Tuesday, so thought we’d have a nice lunch there on Friday. Says outside hot and cold lunches but when I tried to order from menu was told that was evenings only. Had the choice...of 3 sandwiches, ham, cheese or tuna. Very disappointed. Sandwich was ok but very expensive. So I’d say ok in evenings but unless all you want is a sandwich avoid lunchtimes.More
King's head Gunnerside richmondshire Owner/staff went out of their way to accommodate our family gathering of 10 adults food was amazing and such a good choice on menu good selection of beers and spirits would highly recommend this little gem Thanks again Dave&Family
The King’s Head is cosy and friendly. They had brilliant local real ales on tap from the Yorkshire Dales Brewing Company and local Spirit of Swaledale gin. The menu had a good variety. It’s advisable to book a table.
Our second visit after a beautiful walk up the ghyll. The menu is interesting and the chef is very skilled. We had penang curry, steak pie, scampi and stuffed chicken breast. All were delicious and were matched by old style perfectly cooked puds. Served with...a smile this is a humble pub serving excellent food at very good value prices.More
Friendly country pub with a good choice of beers and drinks. Good menu choice and our food was very nice and home cooked to order. Staff were friendly and and service very efficient.
Always great food and service. Recently had a superb rack of lamb and love the curries. Some of our own guests eat there every day that the pub is open.
The Kings has really improved and upped its game since Steve took over. There is a warm friendly greeting on arrival and there is ample room for singles, couples or families. In the warmer days there is a nice seating area outside. There are a...nice choice of beers etc ibn the bar area and there is a menu of good pub grub. The atmosphere is good and when the locals visit the vibe is nice. We will be going back shortly and are really looking forward to it.More
