I visited the Ldekka on the recommendation of a friend and I must say it didn't disappoint! I've visited many hungry horses and this is definately up there with one of the best! Very busy pub but the staff coped with it fantastically and even with the vast amount of people in at the time, they still made you feel... More

A party of six today and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks. A wide choice of traditional British dishes, if you are looking for foreign cuisine you may be disappointed, otherwise for value this place cannot be beaten. Friendly staff and a warm welcome.

Had a busy day shopping and popped in for a quick lunch. Heard mixed reviews but thought give it a go.....wish we hadn't bothered to be honest. We ordered from the menu and thought it sounded nice but the food arrived and we had to ask if they had left items off the plate! Please do not order the Tacos... More

Went on a Saturday , not too busy but atmosphere was horrible, the kids working behind the bar weren't bothered. Food was cold & atmosphere was cramped and cold!. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Popping in for a treat for my daughter turned out to be anything but. Luke warm food and a really long wait to be served meant we won't be going back. My daughter ordered a burger supposed to contain macaroni cheese and bacon. The bacon was missing and there were 5 pieces of macaroni. Asking for mashed potato instead of... More

we had to move one time because the sofa was broken the food came fast which was good we had chicken and bacon the total bill came to under ten pounds for me and my mum. All the staff were very friendly, but it is not the best pub in the world!

Visited Saturday at 12, got in before the rush. We ordered the all day breakfast and the lamb shank, Thatchers Gold and a hot chocolate. Hot chocolate wasn't great it wasn't thick enough, the food was good we both enjoyed it

Description
Part of the Hungry Horse chain, this new pub and restaurant stands on the Bath Road site, in Brislington, Bristol, where the city's iconic Lodekka buses were built 60 years ago.

The pub's links with these green and cream low-height double deckers are mapped out on a wall near the bar. It explains that 5,217 Lodekkas were built at the Brislington works between 1949 and 1968, although they were still in service as recently as 1983, when they were withdrawn.

The retro bus theme even extends to one wall being used as a screen to show old films. They were showing On The Buses, which was amusing and quirky although wall-to-ceiling projections of Olive and Blakey might be enough to put you off your dinner.

The huge menu is basically the same as in any other Hungry Horse and it certainly appeals to all tastes and budgets.

There are the "famous" big plate specials, such as The Full Monty Mixed Grill (£9.49) And the Smothered 9oz Steak Sizzler for the same price. Other options include burgers, hot dogs, pizzas, jackets, burritos and a large section of "favourites" - everything from £3.99 Sausages, mash, peas and gravy to British beef and ale pie (£5.89).

This is not trying to be a gastronomic experience, but a child-friendly place where lots of families can enjoy generous portions of familiar, consistently cooked dishes at low prices
