We tried here after a beautiful hot day. We sat with the door open, people watching. The area and the restaurant are vibrant, friendly and fun. We had poppadoms with chutneys. They were all delicious and unlike the usual generic tastes. My husband had a...More

Had a stonking meal here. House Chuteys were great as were the Thalis. The Lucknow Lamb was one of the most delicious things I have eaten for a long time, really tender and flavourful. I wasn't that keen on the daal which was a bit...More

I can't really find any fault, except for the fact our online booking wasn't recognised when we arrived. Luckily another party had cancelled, so we were accommodated. So this needs to be looked at. Otherwise though, great. Fantastic variety, great price and delicious food and...More

So, firstly service is incredibly slow. No ‘what would you like to drink here folks’ you’ll be waiting so long your stomach will think your throat was slit. Eventually our order for drink and food was taken. It was a long time before we saw...More

Big fan of Thali Café, like the menu and the atmosphere. Went here for a quick evening meal. But the service was a little slow, to start off with, felt like we were a bit ignored at first. But it got a better, and was...More

The Thali Cafe is my favourite Indian food in the U.K. I’ve been many times and not been disappointed. The vegetarian thali consisting of rice, vegetable subji, dal, yoghurt, crunchy salad and punjabi paneer is always delicious, the perfect size with great variety. They also...More

Delicious food with great vegetarian options and environmentally friendly takeaway! We love getting takeaway from here, their packaging is compostable and recyclable. The restaurant decor is great too. We love the mushroom samosas and pumpkin curry.

Travelled down from Gloucester with my partner for lunch with our daughter, who lives nearby in St Werburgh's and who had recommended The Thali Cafe Montpelier as a good place to celebrate my birthday. I was not disappointed! Excellent meal and friendly service! I can...More

Came with a few friends, having been to Thali Cafe Clifton before but not this one. Food equally as delicious and such good food options catering for all, and a really fun setting. Enough food to enjoy all, want a little more, but not feel...More

Description
Famous for Thalis but you'll find classic Indian snacks, coffee and cakes on the menu too. Quirky decor, great atmosphere, free Wifi, kids welcome. Award-winning Tiffin Takeaway scheme. Equally suited for groups, families or for a romantic dinner. Contact us about hiring the whole back room for your party or celebration. This is the original Thali Cafe, located in the hub of Montpelier, it is one of four Thali Cafes in Bristol. We avoid mainstream locations in favour of areas with a strong sense of community where we can foster relationships with local people and businesses.
