We went at 7:30pm on sunday, father's day, with a booking so I was dissapointed to find that the eveing was very chaotic. We ordered shortly after arrival and didn't get our food until an hour later, but maybe they were just very busy. The...drinks were great & very strong. When we arrived we were sat at a sticky table that hadn't been wiped or set for the next guests and we had to ask for cutlery after our food was served because no one set the table even after we'd sat. The steak was lovely and the house sauce is delicious, the chicken was great too, but the burgers were such a dissapointment! We ordered a kid's burger from the kid's menu and a steak burger from the normal menu (£10 difference) and they came out the exact same size! Handful of meh fries, the meat inside both was good but the buns were cheap and it's shocking that the adult's burger is the same size as the kid's. By the time we arrived they were also out of so many things, which added to the feel that the whole restaurant was very disorganised (no draft soft drinks, no prawns at all, only 1 chicken left, etc). Throughout the evening no one checked on us and we kept having to get up to flag down waiters to ask for things like drink refills and remind them that we were missing the kid's dessert. I can't fault the staff's attitude. They were very polite and I'm sure were trying their best, but the whole evening felt very hectic. To top it off, we got given the wrong bill. I only noticed it was another table's bill because we waited so long for someone to come take the payment that I read through the receipt and realised it wasn't ours. These were all small mistakes that aren't a big deal but because they all happened one after the other it just lowered the standard of the evening. Considering this is a pretty expensive restaurant, I just expected more.More

Starters are really good, deserts are nice and barman skills and his drinks are great. Sadly can’t say the same about the steak. It’s eatable but definitely not worth the £35+ There is a very fine line between medium-rare, medium and medium-well and unfortunately the...chef is still looking for that one. You can also taste the burn grill taste on a stake that is sadly overpowering the taste of the actual steak. Overall place great for dinner I’d you want to impress your date but not so much for foodies or food critics.More

Over priced less than advance stake had heard amazing things however the experience didn’t live up to this. The quality just isn’t there to charge £47 for the smallest thinnest r bone stake I’ve ever had. Save your money

We had quite high expectations ahead of meeting friends at the Grill having heard some really positive feedback from friends locally but I won’t lie, we have reflected on our evening tonight and feel quite deflated by the experience really…. We were a table of...6, 5 adults and 1 child…. Firstly the drinks…. We were impressed that the restaurant offered bottomless soft drinks. None of us are real drinkers so paying an extra £1.20 each seems really reasonable. When our first round of drinks were delivered to the table we were presented with bottles of Diet Coke. We told our waitress this didn’t seem right as we we expected these would be on drought but we’re reassured this was correct. Unsurprisingly at the end of the meal, each bottle of coke and lemonade were listed on the bill. The waitress told me the bottomless option was no longer available!?!?! I was obviously really frustrated by this…. Secondly the food….The main courses were nice. Perhaps a little small in terms of size of burgers etc but the food was tasty. My wife who is gluten free was a little disappointed that her burger had no cheese for some random reason compared to the rest of us but we were all pretty happy with the taste of what we had chosen. Thirdly, desert…. The only gluten free option was toffee brownie which my wife opted for you. No exaggeration it was the size of a two finger kit Kat for just under £8. Compared to the other deserts our group had, it was absolutely tiny and really out of proportion with the others. Again no complaints on taste here, it was just a bit odd. Lastly, the service…. Clearly it was a young team looking after us this evening and all obviously working really hard but it was sloppy, from drinks being spilt, being quite rushed to order drinks while we were waiting for our party to all arrive, cutlery not being offered for desert, also a sarcastic laugh from one member of the team when we enquired about the burgers being gluten free if we removed the bun?!?! While this may be an obvious yes, it’s so important for us to ask these questions and felt a little belittled by this reaction. The meal came to £200 for the 6 of us, all with 2 courses and a few drinks (owing to the issue with refills) I wouldn’t say this is unreasonable for us all but as per my opening statement, we were just a little disappointed by it all and it’s a shame the issues we list don’t reflect the quality of the actual food in terms of taste. I hope the above comes across in the balanced way I had hoped and the restaurant finds these comments constructive to help their ongoing business.More

First time visiting the new venue. We were seated upstairs which is when the disappointment began. Lack of staff covering the floor and the service was slow. Our orders did not arrive together and when the food did arrive the waitress leant over people to...put the food on the table. We had to ask for more drinks as staff were not attentive. On leaving the restaurant the staff were hoovering and cleaning the downstairs area ready to go home. We had to step over the vacuum cleaner! Not what you expect from what is an above average priced restaurantMore

Having eaten in all 3 premises over the years this visit has been extremely disappointing. We were given a table upstairs. Which wasn’t a problem. There was 4 of us. The food itself was ok. The steaks are quite expensive. All 4 plates were stone...cold when they arrived. 2 meals came & there was quite a wait for the other 2. The service was all over the place. The person taking our order wasn’t paying attention to the table. He was distracted by what was going on around the restaurant. One waitress leant straight across me to put the plate in front of the person next to me. Another just put the dish on the edge of the table. No one through out the evening checked if the meal was ok. Standard training in my view. Sadly on this visit we were not impressed & it has totally put us off returning in a hurry. Such a shame standards have dropped.More

Came here with my partner, who had been here before, and really enjoyed it. We were greeted at the door and only pointed to our seats, which were strangely low down compared to the table. No waiter asked if we had any allergies, which luckily...neither of us do, but something that must be a priority when seating guests! We ordered some cocktails, which were in fairness really nice! Ordered our food, a T-Bone steak and beef burger with no mayo and tomato, which I double checked with the waiter. Food didn't take too long to arrive which was good. The waiter put the burger down first, and stared at it for a few seconds before asking if it had any tomato or mayo in it, which he probably should have done back at the pass, and checked over with one of the chefs. My partner's steak came out afterwards and we dug into the food. Unfortunately, I soon realised that there were tomatoes in my burger, which were easy enough to take out, but could have caused a massive problem if I had been allergic. My partner's steak was also really disappointing as he found it really difficult to cut into (also not helped by the table height, and the cutlery) and eventually gave up with it, after only eating what he could get into. The burger was mediocre at best, but the fries were pretty good. Overall, my partner and I were really disappointed in the experience, and even if service or food is pretty average in other restaurants, we never complain. I used to work as a waitress in a restaurant that got its fair amount of complaints, and so I always just enjoy going out for a meal and tip, but our experience here was just so disappointing, and I really don't think it was worth the price that we paid, considering the T-Bone is just under £50. Things that could be done to improve would be to source the meat from different suppliers, considering I've seen other people complain about similar problems on here, and make sure that staff are better trained on greeting guests and serving the food: ensuring they ask all guests if there are any allergies (this is also a legal requirement) and double checking the the food is prepared correctly before bringing it over to the table. Wouldn't recommend coming here until things improve.More

What a shame tried this last night , services was slow but they were busy , an hour for starters and the next table were given mains before starters not a good start. Disable toilet facilities were filthy . No toilet paper, hand soap or...hand towels and the toilet bowl had not seen a scrubbing brush in years. NOT Acceptable We were seated near the kitchen and the chef seemed so to have the traits of Gordon Ramsey minus the swearing. He was Very flustered . Now to the steaks the meat was not the best quality for the price the T Bone was £46 asked for medium came out rare not a problem but it has so much gristle we asked the waiter to try and cut it . Which he couldn’t . We were given 40 percent off that steak without asking. These are over London prices and not London quality ( try hawksmoor) in London amazing and cheaper? Only plus is the front of house staff - lovely could not be more helpful and polite although the smiling seemed to be disappearing the later it got but probably as food was going back the chef was having a go at them . Not a good look infront of customer. Have tried this restaurant 3 times in all 3 locations in Aylesbury and it still falls short or the prices they command - what a shameMore

This was my first visit - but it was handy for the Theatre and was keen to try the food. The decor is nice and the staff friendly and attentive. Went on a Saturday night a 5.30pm – it was quiet when we arrived but...full by 6.30. We had the spicy chicken and King prawns to start both of which we enjoyed. For main courses we ordered the Chicken and a Burger. We didn’t wait too long but nor did we feel rushed so well timed by the kitchen! A pet hate of mine is ordering drinks or condiments with a main course and then waiting for them – really pleased that both arrived swiftly. The burger was amazing – really happy with it. Was too full for a dessert but the selection looked nice. Had a great meal, the food was good, staff attentive and nice surrounding . would recommend and will be going back!More

It’s a town centre location so there are pay & display bays dotted around. Like the other answer though after 1800hrs, parking (if you can get it) is free in the bays outside Sainsbury’s
