Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a lovely venue for live music! Tickets are very reasonable, sound quality is good, good sight lines to the stage, and even an area for dancing. Staff very helpful and friendly. Bar available. Nearest parking is the multi storey just across the road from...the back door. Recommended.More

I've been to several music events at the Petri Dish. The music has always been good, the sound quality excellent and the venue has a great atmosphere, with plenty of seating at tables as well a large area for dancing. In my opinion the entrance...prices are very reasonable, particularly considering what the costs must be running a town centre venue. It's a family friendly venue and I don't agree with the reviewer who said that a few children (including the owners' children) taking photos was inappropriate. It's good to see them getting involved and at the same time learning a skill.More

I went to a local band's gig here and was quite disappointed. It was £12 for two local bands which seems a lot. Quite a few people turned up but left when they heard the price. Also there were children running around with cameras the...whole time getting in the way and ruining the view of the band. it wasn't suitable or appropriate for them to be there. There is also a HUGE step just past the back door (over a foot high) which isn't marked or fenced off etc (if it's an actual step might be worth painting the edge so people can see it) which is very dangerous at night as you can't see how steep it is, or that it's there.More

This is a special place, it's an organic cafe serving great teas, which I love, but more importantly it's a live music venue and offers some absolutely amazing artists and bands. I've been there many times and thoroughly recommend going. It's cool, comfortable and run...by 2 of the nicest people on the planet, Frank and Susie are just so welcoming and make your visit really special.More

This really has to be the best place I've been to locally. So spacious and relaxed. No rushing or intrusion. When the owners speak, you listen, as they enthuse about the teas and the wonderful menu. I loved that having a cup of tea became...an occasion, something not to be rushed and when the food came the deal was sealed. My favourite place to eat and relax over a meeting for sure and no doubt it will become a haunt for quieter moments as well.More

My first visit here and was really impressed with the food along with the really friendly service and spacious seating area. Amazing humous dish thoroughly enjoyed and very good value, finished off with a delicious chocolate tart which was rich and hit the spot. Will...definitely be back and also great to support a locally owned business. An extensive range of hot drinks on offer too.More

This is a family run, independent cafe and entertainment venue. The people are very friendly, the food is amazing and all made fresh by the owners (and everything is plant based!). I'm not a coffee person but they seem like real coffee connoisseurs. This town...needs more places like this. Real sense of community here.More

We were looking for cake & coffee and we always seek out independent shops rather than the large chains. We walked past the rear of this shop and noticed the sign saying tea, coffee, cakes so in we went. I'm so glad we did, what...lovely lovely owners. They took time to explain all the tasty food and drinks to us, everything was hand prepared on the premises it looked fantastic. This is not your normal grab a slice of cake mass produced in a factory this is proper food made with the best ingredients. Food & drinks ordered we sat down and the owner brought it to us, needless to say we got chatting and wow the owners are so passionate about their food and their ideas for the future of their business. These guys opened just before covid and they have survived to see their dreams starting to come together. If you are ever I'm Aylesbury please pop in for a bite to eat you will love the whole experience. We will definitely be coming back very soon.More

Training venues in this area are hard to find and I came across this little gem, right in the heart of our town. I deliver training in Mental Health First Aid and this is something that Frank, the owner, is very passionate about. He has...been very supportive in all the arrangements leading up to our training and was very conscientious to ensure that everything was prepared and in order for the day. From seating arrangements to screens and whiteboards, refreshments and tasty, nutritious lunches. This will definitley be my local training venue for the future. I would also recommend finding this place if you are looking for a tasty home cooked lunch or just a coffee in wonderful surroundings.More

Recently opened, this is an absolutely delightful place with such nice proprietors, a large choce of teas and coffees (try rose petal tea!), home made cakes and unusual sandwiches. All natural products, lots of options for vegans/ folk with allergies. A kind of community centre...too- today they had a science fair going on for the kids, which granddaughter loved. Our new regular coffee shop!More
