Lovely lunch ! Very busy with customers but still managed to provide great food, good customer services and a friendly atmosphere. Where once the food was over-priced but mediocre, it is now well priced and much more palatable. Service was good too !

We had booked a table for lunch at this lovely village pub which had been recommended to us by the butcher from a neighbouring village. We were warmly welcomed on arrival by the bar manager and there was no pressure to order immediately which was appreciated as the menu was so enticing it was difficult to make a choice. We shall definitely have to return in order to try something different. The pub is situated in a very pretty village surrounded by glorious countryside. If you find yourself in the area I thoroughly recommend you stop in for a visit.

Great service, excellent food and a lovely lively atmosphere on a Saturday night. Busy so glad we had booked our table earlier that day. We were staying at Mary's Cabin with our host Ben who recommended it as the nearest pub and a possible 10% discount if we mentioned where we were staying which we did and they honoured this too which was also great. Highly recommended :-)

Self titled best Sunday lunch in Bucks - they must have been having an off day, what we got was inedible meat at a huge price. The veg was ok with our roast dinner but the beef had a strange spongy consistency and a weird grey colour. Two of our table had fish and chips one looked like a child’s portion and one was massive. Very expensive and even the beer tasted like drain cleaner. No one asked us if all was ok just a very expensive mistake. **apparently the proper chef doesn’t work Sundays.

As a family, we went to have a sunday lunch in this pub. We were sat near the kitchen. We waited a long time for our order and being around the kitchen, we had plenty of time to observe how chaos it looked like. I ordered a lemonade which had a bit of an after taste, much like not cleaned pipes. As for our oders, I ordered the pork belly with the usual vegetables and yorkshire pudding and my husband ordered the soup which was bland and tasteless. The yorkshire pudding was cold, the potatoes did not taste fresh but more from a pack, they were tasteless and seemed to have been recooked. My pork belly was uneatable, the meat was dry, tough and chewy and i could hardly cut through it. I complained to the person in charged who took my plate away and came back to say that she agreed that the yorkshire pudding was cold. As for the pork belly she came back with the most unbelievable excuse that it is how it should be cooked and that I only had to cut through it and that it was soft in the center. Unbelievable! I told her that i tried every way i could to cut through the meat which was tough and dry. And No! the meat of the pork belly should not be tough, dry and chewy. To come up with such an excuse as if I never ate pork belly before? My husband could not eat much of what was on his plate which he said was bland and left half of it (and he was very hungry). This pub is not very customer-oriented but much more like a money-grabbing at any cost.

Today, I am happy to say I have had the most fantastic lunch experience for a very long time. As I walked into the restaurant ,the gorgeous , very friendly and charming Adele rushed to welcome us and saw that I have a poorly leg.She immediately offered me a cushion to raise my chair and also made sure the table suited us for my needs. All the time we were there she subtly made sure I was comfortable. It made me feel so special and cared for. The place was full with large families and their offspring’s and other couples. I could see that they received very good service and care from Adele also. Then , of course, the equally lovely, funny, kind and very calm Joop made sure we all got our drinks and spread a lot of warmth with his natural and sunny smile. The atmosphere today was really relaxing and even the sun bathed the place in warmth. The service really was exceptional from beginning to end . It was very professional, quick but not rushed, very friendly with a lot of smiles from the two beautiful waitresses, Alexandra and Amelia . They were constantly going around making sure the customers were happy incl us without being intrusive. A real skill. When the perfect roast came out( beef) with all its trimmings we could not believe how great it tasted and the beef was as soft as a marshmallow and so tasty and don t start me on the proper gravy! Robin, the chef did himself proud. The vegetables and the Yorkshire Pudding were just right. The only thing that did not work for me were the parsnips as too al dente for me. Of course, this did not bother me. The portion was so generous therefore we had no room for a dessert. When we asked for the bill there was no wait. The whole time we were there all ran smoothly , like clockwork and professionally. The staff and owners were on top form today and went out of their way to make our experience the best one in a very long time anywhere. Thank you for a wonderful lunch experience. We will be back.

Very friendly pub. Welcoming to walkers and a great location to stop off for lunch. Food is fantastic and incredibly reasonably priced given the quality and care taken with homemade really meaning homemade. Best piccalilli ever - crisp, tangy and great with the pork pie. Excellent beer including local brews.

This lovely pub in a beautiful area of the Chilterns has an interesting menu to suit all tastes, and quality food that is freshly prepared, well presented and reasonably priced. But what really stood out to me was that the management and staff really care about their customers. Respect to the lovely landlady Adele who took over at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020. It can't have been an easy journey for her but she clearly puts her heart and soul into this business, and it shows. I wish Adele and the Boot great success and I will be back for another lunch!

Went to this pub last weekend - felt like it was being run by a bunch of children, with no adult input. Food was poor too. Charcuterie was just meat and bread. We had this a few months ago, and also had cheese and butter, but when I said this, I was just told that’s how it is - and there was no offer to swap it for anything else. Also had a roast and the Yorkshire’s were hard and tasteless as were the roast potatoes. Nobody checked on our meal and at the end of it we gave feedback and felt very awkward. We ordered a bottle of the New Zealand wine, and whilst we were told it was a South African wine, as New Zealander’s were disappointed to see the label is a fake New Zealand wine with a South African note on the back - the wine was also warm! When we mentioned this to the young girl serving she seemed puzzled that we were no happy with warm wine. Whilst we have been before, we have also found the owner to be very abrasive. There are much better places out there!!

Dear Christina & John. Thank you for taking the time to present your review. I am very sorry that your visit did not meet with your expectations. I have spoken to the team to try and get a better understanding of the issues and wanted to respond. We have recently changed our menu. the Charcuterie board is now indeed charcuterie only - I apologise that this was a disappointment for you but it does clearly say on the menu that this is mixed meats and bread. I appreciate that you may have had this previously and this may have caused you have a preconceived expectation - I am sorry. By all accounts our team did check on you a number of times during the meal - regardless the fact that this was not up to speed is regrettable. We get many compliments about our Sunday lunch and again I apologise that this missed your expectation. For that reason 1 of your meals was taken off your bill. Our Wine Supplier notified us on Thursday that our normal NZ Sauvignon had not been received and that they had a South African alternative until the normal wine was back in Stock. This was mentioned to you in advance - I am afraid that there is not much I can do about the wine labelling. If the wine was not cold enough it should have been addressed. I have replied on behalf of my boss (The Owner) - as she was sadly not even there on Sunday. I do think the comment about her is very hurtful and rather unnecessary - there are hundreds of wonderful messages about her passion and commitment and she frankly will always try and deal with things in the best spirit! We would love to see you again - and we will do our level best to show you that our pub deserves all the 5 star ratings that we aspire to. thank you.

We ended up here after coming from Oxford to High Wycombe on our way to London. My husband booked as good reviews. Ordered traditional Sunday lunch - 2 x rolled pork belly and a roast beef. Well we ate every morsel - I appreciate good food and this was it!! Met the lovely Adele who runs the pub who was as beautiful as she was charming, and with a very personal touch turned my MIL'S birthday meal into something very special ☺️ We have raved about this meal so much our extended family are already looking to come again with us in a couple of weeks! PS Dogs welcome Go to this place!!

Visited for a friend's birthday and The boot did not disappoint. The food was high quality and the service was outstanding. Food was served in good time on hot plates and our hosts were attentive, friendly and accomodating for special requests for our friends birthday. The garden was perfect for pre dinner drinks in the sunshine. The menu offered a good variety of choice while not being overwhelming with enticing specials of the day also being offered. The decor was also stunning, fresh spring flowers on the bar and individual tables while the open plan restaurant with high beams and pretty lighting made for eye-catching surroundings. We had a fantastic time and couldn't reccomend the Boots enough.

I recently held my birthday party at The Boot and it was the perfect venue. I booked the whole pub on a Saturday night. Adele and team were fabulous - I met with Adele a few times before and she was really helpful with recommendations for food and drink and all the planning details. I was in safe hands. Her team were great on the night and many of my guests commented on the delicious food. I had a fantastic birthday without any of the stress, and am so glad I chose The Boot.

Really nice pub, very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. Great Sunday lunch. They could consider increasing the service charge as 10% doesn't seem enough! Definitely recommend and, although I don't live locally, I hope you visit again.
