I used to go here a lot as a teenager living in cambridge. Took my family back on a trip down memory lane. Never again! Lady serving behind counter sneezed without covering her mouth then got out a dirty tissue, blew copious amount of snot...into it, which also went over her hands. Pretty grim in a pandemic but if she’d washed her hands I could have moved on. Instead she put the snot filled tissue in her pocket and grabbed a couple of menus for me with her snotty hands to show us to a table. She could see us all watching her so clearly zero s*it’s given. Absolutely revolting at the best of times. But during a major pandemic - totally irresponsible. Train your staff in basic hygiene Tatties. 🤮 Yuck!!!!More

As other reviewers have noted the toilet is awful ,dirty no towels to dry hands and when mentioned to staff their reply”it’s not my department what do you want me to do about it?!”Similar negative replies from the owner.Had to wait for very long time...for food to arrive Very mediocre when it eventually came. The attitude of the owner was dreadful had the personality of a baked potato and the waiting staff appeared to be clueless.Seriously I wish we had read the reviews as we would have avoided this place.More

We wanted a family afternoon snack somewhere different. Over priced but felt that was OK for a treat. The cakes all looked fantastic but I have grave concerns over what their food hygiene practices are like based on the horrendous state of their toilets. We...were unable to use them. The flickering lights and soiled environment made it look like a horror movie set. I advised the staff they needed to attend to the facilities and received a snarky, rude and very poor customer orientated attitude. I would not recommend or ever return.More

From the continental coffee to the great falafel & salad, excellent service, quality & taste. Lovely setting in a stone arcade, with trees and cover to protect from rain. Great experience ;0)

I am very rarely moved to write a trip advisor review but I was left so disappointed by my visit to Tatties that I feel compelled to warn others. The man who ‘greeted’ us was abrupt and seemed (at best) bored of his job, verging...on annoyed that he was there. Covid precautions were few and far between (staff wearing their masks around their chins) and no distancing. The food seemed expensive but I wouldn’t have minded the prices (it is in the city centre after all) if the food was half decent but it consisted of cheap ingredients poorly prepared. I ordered a milkshake for my daughter and it was just a flavoured glass of milk (no thickness to it), I also ordered her a cheese baguette which they took it upon themselves to toast (even though I didn’t request that). She refused to eat the (burnt) baguette so I asked a waitress if I could get one that wasn’t toasted and she looked at me completely blankly and seemed utterly at a loss as to what to do to resolve the situation. The greeter man seemingly had to talk her through how to fix the problem. To be fair they brought out a new one quickly but it was very underwhelming. The whole meal was disappointing and the order system where you are given an order number which they call out when delivering your food meant the entire time we were there consisted of the grumpy ‘greeter’ man barking out numbers loudly and getting increasing annoyed if people couldn’t understand or hear him clearly. Zero customer service or culinary skills. The location is amazing and it’s a real shame it’s not a better cafe.More

Waiter rude and a bit smelly. Toilets are appalling and also smell. The eggs benedict was a disgrace, the sauce was cold and in a small pot, definitely from a bottle. Jacket potato not worth £8.00. Was really disappointed by the whole visit.

Strangely Cambridge does not have many independent cafes - mostly restaurants. This one is in a quiet location with tables outside in a square which is much better than sitting on a crowded pavement. Inside looked nice too. Service was very friendly and quick. Coffee...was extra hot as requested and food lovely. Everything that I saw brought out looked appetizing. I don't know why this cafe has a low score. I am extremely fussy but would definitely go back.More

We don't go to Cambridge that ofter, when my daughter and I visit we always have lunch here, location in a little square is lovely, just off the market area. The meals are good, the ceasar salad was great and at a reasonable price.

Friendly service but wasn’t that impressed by the food. Pretty average cafe food that’s pretty expensive - £8.55 for a baguette, soggy salad and a coke!?

This is the second time I have met up with five friends at this cafe. We found the atmosphere friendly and the food very good. Staff very attentive. I am writing this review as in the past has received some negative comments. We will continue...to meet here in the week.More
