Hi Ivan. Really wish you could have found some more time to express why you though we were 'dirty' and 'unfriendly' as your review does not give us much to go on otherwise. Constructive criticism is always appreciated, so please do reach out to discuss...More
Characteristic pub a few minutes from Jesus Green. Beautiful 1930s interior with a gig room at the back. Friendly staff and always a few guest ales. Always some good rock music on the stereo system. Some interesting music memorabilia, and a few vintage arcade games...to play. One of Cambridge's friendlier pubs.More
Brilliant pub, went here for New Year's eve, the live band was awesome, the cheese table was a perfect fit for the evening, it was delicious. The atmosphere was awesome. Would definitely recommend.
Superb little music venue, we arrived early with a pre-booked table to grab a bite to eat and c couple of drinks before the gig. Lovely cosy atmosphere on a freezing cold nigh, just what we needed. Wonderful friendly staff who could not have been...more helpful. Not a huge menu but more than enough for us. Had a great evening, cannot fault it and cannot wait to go back. top marks.More
Kyran was amazing, first day on the job and absolutely brilliant on both the pints, the food recommendation and the banter- just a shame about the managers
Great little live music venue! Friendly staff, good selection of drinks. Could do with more toilets though...
Awesome Pub, great new music venue, friendly staff who know their beer and patrons, great selection of real ales. Ordered a taxi when phone had ran out which I was very grateful for. Can’t wait to return cheers guys👏👏👏👍👍👍😄😄😄
My second visit to this quaint public house, this time with family (including a dog). Our table had been reserved, it was very clean and cosy. We were welcomed & shown to our table. The service & the food were excellent. Three different freshly cooked...dishes all arrived at the same time. Very tasty. A very nice touch of dog biscuits left in Tupperware for our four legged friend & a bowl of fresh water nearby. If I could give 10 stars, I would. This lovely pub is totally worth a visit for a drink, fresh coffee or a meal.More
We spent both nights in the portland, of our two night stay at a nearby b&b. The staff were friendly, the wine was good, food was excellent, young and old drank side by side... Definitely recommend.
Thanks for the kind words! Hope your stay in Cambridge was enjoyable and that you pop in again if you find yourself this way again in the future.
Received two warm cocktails, when I noticed I was in a different area of the venue. When I approached the bar staff and asked for a change of drinks the guy refused. Ended up having to pay for my own replacements. He wouldn’t even feel...the base of the cup to acknowledge my point. I did go back to the original bar within the pub/venue where the guy also seemed pretty skeptical, he poured another that was warm. My point, those drinks will make someone very unwell. If someone has an issue, especially with a product your selling. Maybe don’t ignore them.More
Sorry for the delay in responding. I spoke to Sam our bar manager about this and he remembers the incident, and that we had an issue with the cocktail dispense equipment that night, when you purchased them from the main bar. Inside the music venue...More
Attended a teenage cancer trust music event. What a great music venue this is. All staff really friendly and welcoming. Great layout with space inside and out.
this is the first pub I've sat in since covid and I thought the systems in place were good and obviously thought through and being kept up. The staff were, as always, nice and also very on top with masks, one way systems, making us...use hand sanitiser etc which I found reassuring. We will return.More
You need to have bouncers in your venue, our friend got beaten up at a gig last night, no bouncers etc present, and anybody could walk in, Not very well organised at allMore
Hi Rosemary We are very sorry to hear that your friend was involved in an incident last Saturday. We did reach out to offer medical and to ring for an ambulance or to give a statement to the police but they refused at the time....More
I brought my family here for a meal. The staff were very curt, but without reason. The food that was eventually produced was substandard. Never again.
The staff was friendly but drinks were a little more pricey than other pubs, however, the tropical cider on tap was delicious. Filled to the brim: a FULL pint. I went with friends for a concert in the special room behind the pub. It’s a...small venue that probably holds only 150 with standing room only. They do have. Coat check for £1 which is very convenient. A cute small garden area out back for those who smoke or want to sit outside. Restrooms were clean and the color of the toilet lids seemed a bit odd, but eye catching.More
