What a delightful, old fashioned, pub. That's a complement. Friendly staff, fine ambience. We especially enjoyed the olives, humus and feta starter with pitta bread. Just what was needed before a wonderful lecture by Chris Palmer. Parking is a bit limited, but there is on...More

I've always been a bit ambivalent about this pub. It's handy for meeting up as everybody knows where it is but consequently the staff don't make the slightest bit of effort and the brewery beer ranges from average to poor. The final straw came last...More

You must be the same person that shouted at the barman to "grow a pair of balls ". Please thank your friend who came back and apologised on your behalf .

Food was great (hamburguer with bacon, brie and mushrooms)... delicious. Staff not very friendly though, asked for a receipt and only got a copy of the credit card payment. Table was cleaned up immediately after finishing the food, ...encouraging me to leave I guess (nobody...More

The Castle always offers a warm ambience and delicious food at a good price. The menu is small but the food is consistently of a very high standard - the veggie burger is the best I have had anywhere, including vegetarian restaurants and so-called speciality...More

We had a couple of drinks in this pub on a Friday night. When we bought our second round the barman "forgot" to mention that it was 15 minutes to drinking-up time. Instead he came round 15 minutes later to where we were sitting and...More

Hi, I'm sorry but I think you have the wrong Castle . There is more than one in Cambridge .

Ordered the speciality "Castle Burger" and chips. The food was entirely unseasoned. The chips were strangely waxy, and the tasteless burgers had an unpleasant consistency not unlike cotton wool. After making some enquiries of an inside source, I discovered why. The waxy chips are apparently...More

I'm sorry. I don't know who told you that we cook burgers from raw in a microwave. But that is not the case. Even though your review was written in August, I do remember you. It was a Friday night and you sat on the...More

This is my local watering hole, and I'm v. satisfied with it. Cosy areas, a great range of lagers on tap, cheap food - always a pleasant experience.

My father-in-law and I ate here. Great service. We were well attended to. The food was tasty and punctual, with super portions! We didn't leave hungry ;) Can definitely recommend the venison burger.
