First visit and really impressed. The service was really friendly, the plantain, rice, yam and spicy sauce was delicious and it's great to see they specifically cater for vegans also. Will definitely be visiting again.

Writing this review for takeout. The food was absolutely delicious and the owner was helpful taking me through what options I had as a vegetarian. Will definitely be ordering again! Just a tip - if you want the Okele you need to order a day in advance.

This unassuming little stall nestled in the midst of a bustling Cambridge market belied its appearance to blow us away. The food was exceptional for takeaway fare and the service was truly exceptional in this day and age. The generous portions of curried goat, jollof rice, spicy chicken wings and plantain were all very well prepared and there was even two strengths of heat for the curried goat! I loved trying Nigerian food and my wife and I can't wait to visit Cambridge again to sample the delights on offer at Africfood.

Been eating my way around the world via the fabulous streetfood stalls on Cambridge market but had never tried the fare from Africfood. I have been missing out. There are some attractive vegetarian options but i was torn between nigerian 'spicy chicken stew' and nigerian 'goat and spinach curry'. I opted for the chicken and i greedily ordered a portion of black eyed beans as well. The young lady who makes and sells the food is a very happy soul and her attitude enhances your meal. The chicken had been slow cooked for ages and had fallen apart. It isnt particularly pleasing on the eye but is on the tongue. It was a generous portion and i couldn't see my beans below. It is spicy, i have a low chilli threshold and i was right on my limit with this. I have tried plantains before, i could take or leave them, that has changed, they were delicious. They had sucked in the flavours of everything else. If there are two of you, you could order what i had and share it out on two trays, too much for one. Really enjoyed this food and look forward to eating other new dishes. The goat curry will be next.

I was in Cambridge for the weekend and wanted to try something new to eat. I approached this Nigerian market stall and didn’t know what to choose so the lovely lady serving the food took charge and gave me rice, plantain and goat curry with chilli sauce. I was not disappointed. The food was deliciously tasty and the server was friendly and very generous with my portion size. I was satisfied on all levels and would definitely return to eat here again. Highly recommended.

We stumbled upon Africfoods while exploring Cambridge. We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff, and decided to pick up two of her vegan meals for lunch. We know a little about Nigerian flavours and knew we would enjoy it, and this exceeded our expectations. We ordered the jollof rice, fried plantains and beans, with a generous serving of chilli sauce on top. The mixture of sweet, savoury and hot flavours was incredible, and we enjoyed every mouthful. Worth looking up if you in the area.

I have heard about jollof rice before, but this was the first time I tried it, and it exceeded my expectations: it was sensational! Rich, spicy, flavoursome, with a definite oomph. Returned a couple of days later with my family, my wife ordered the jollof rice while our 8yr old son had the spicy goat. The lady is very friendly, she adjusts the spiciness, sides & portion sizes perfectly according to our individual preferences. From all the food stands on the market, this one really stands out! We can highly recommend it for individuals, couples, as well as families.

We get this food whenever we’re passing through the market - it’s delicious! Great veggies options, recommend the jollof rice with plantain and red sauce. The lady who owns and runs the stall is also a delight! We heard about her from her local church after she spend lockdown making stew for people who were shielding. Service with a big welcoming smile every time.

We loved this place. Friendly staff who helped us pick (we know very little about Nigerian food), we had plantain, goat and jollof rice. Plantain was tasty and sweet, slow-cooked goat was incredible, marinated in spices and so tender, jollof very good. A good amount of meat, reasonable prices and generous portions. Unreservedly highly recommend and we'll be back!

The veggiebox is amazing and so full of taste. All of my friends who do eat meat also love those options. Am already a regular and always go there when I want to get myself a treat from the market. Lovely lovely service as well, nothing to possibly complain about. (I always find that the large veggie box can easily be split into two meals so the price is definitely appropriate!)

On days when I'm in town near mid day I stop by the Africfood stall and get their veggie mix for lunch. Comes with rice & sauce. There's rarely a queue, the food is tasty and filling, and it is always served with a big smile! Recommended. Yes it comes in a plastic tub, but this tub, once washed, is useful as a food storage box.

We were wandering through the Cambridge market when we came up the stall for Africfood. We stopped and chatted for a bit with the lovely woman there who let us try the dishes. We ended up purchasing the non-spicy goat dish with Jaffa rice, and it was delicious! We're so glad she stopped us to chat!

I was in Cambridge for work and some colleagues took me to the market square as there was quite a selection. Africfood caught my eye, I wasn't sure what to order so went with the goat and spinach with fried rice and plantain. I only order the medium size at £7 (most stalls were priced similarly), I wish I'd gone large as it was absolutely delicious. The lady that served me was a delight and really made the ordering a pleasant chat. If I'm ever back in Cambridge for work I'll be heading here again. Please go and give it a try. Wonderful.
