I have eaten here many times before and always found it pleasant. Will never go in there again after that. My drink order arrived wrong. Not a problem and easily resolved. Human error. My food order arrived not at all what expected and written on...the menu. I politely asked why I didn't have the sourdough to be greeted with a very defensive member of staff who said he was simply doing what his Manager tells him to. I politely pointed out that this was not what was written on the menu. The annoyance on his face and in his delivery made me very uncomfortable. I asked him why I feel like I have done something wrong, and why he was being rude. He replied saying that I was being rude to him. I really was not. Even if I had of been slightly annoyed at his response, this does not excuse his reaction. I was very polite in my approach. I continued eating and saw another customer who had ordered this meal, and realised mine was completely different to this. It was missing another two items. I again politely raised this with the female member of staff, and wondered why mine seemed so wrong compared to the menu and the other customer. It transpired that my order had been put through incorrectly, and the male pointed out that I had ordered it wrong. I had not. I was not even offered a partial refund. Needless to say, I did not finish my meal and had to leave. Absolutely disgusted.More

Delightful cafe with friendly staff. Enjoyed frittata with two salads, my son had a vegan sausage roll with two salads. Delicious fresh and tasty salads, frittata and vegan roll; generous portion sizes. Great coffee. Cakes looked amazing but settled for two smaller servings. Would definitely...recommend this cafe.More

Lovely small cafe, slightly away from the busiest shopping area. Service at the til where we ordered and when bringing food and clearing the table was always friendly and welcoming. There was a good choice of imaginative and creative fresh salads, toasted panini, savoury pastries...etc. Plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans. There were some tempting looking sweet things too, but we did not have much time so enjoyed a generous plate of three different salads, a delicious pan fried goats cheese and red onion sandwich (cheese cut a wee bit thick, so not quite as melty as it could be but very flavourful) and a tasty maple roasted vegetable and squash 'not sausage' roll. There is a good choice of chilled drinks ginger, elderflower, still lemonade etc There are a few tables outside which on less hot day would be very appealing but offering little shade in a very hot day. Inside was relatively cool and calm. Loo and baby change area was very clean and well kept.More

I had been wanting to try Abantu for a while after hearing such good things and it did not disappoint. The portion sizes where huge and the food seemed really fresh. The menu had such a good choice. Can't wait to go back

Coffee was fine but within about 5 minutes of sitting down an older member of staff came to my table and murmured something about not working in a cafe. Everyone else was working in the cafe yet she targeted this at me, I found it...very rude and won’t be returning and advise against as place to work. The rest of the staff were friendly tho.More

Really enjoy lunch here - there's always a variety of healthy and not-so-healthy treats so you can go for whatever you feel like. Food is the kind of thing you'd expect at a good-quality café. Really lovely atmosphere, lots of light - my favourite table...is in the corner and built on top of a sewing machine (I come here quite a lot). Very reasonably priced and would wholeheartedly recommend.More

Having spent the morning punting in Cambridge, we visited Café Abantu for a spot of lunch and couldn't have been happier. The staff were friendly and the food was fantastic. We sampled the toasties (bacon/brie and the goats cheese/sweet chilli - my personal favourite) as...well as the sausage roll & milkshakes and all were so tasty. Well worth a visit!More
