Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very nicely presented, food good quality. But they have a no substitute policy, so if you want to swap something you have to pay for your second choice. This works out quite expensive. I can think of nowhere nearby with a similar policy, and have...to admit it often makes this place a second choice..More

Could not understand why such a quality farm shop stocked only one local cheese. For example, there was French and Somerset Brie on sale, but not Suffolk Brie which is far superior. Shameful

Ive been to this place twice now and I can honestly say that this is the best breakfast I’ve ever had. Every item on the plate is of the highest quality. I had the farmhouse breakfast both times and at £12.99 it is at the...more expensive end for a breakfast but it is worth every penny!! Highly recommend! Can’t wait to come back!More

Countryside farm shop with an abundance of local produce, an excellent selection of pickles and jams purchased and enjoyed during our vacation in Cambridgeshire. Coffee taken at the cafe too.

A very busy place but we were served very quickly and enjoyed a fabulous breakfast. Great value for money and the most amazing desserts I’ve ever seen. All the staff were really friendly and all worked so well together. Lovely farm shop with a good...selection of well priced outdoor plants. Definitely our new stop on the way to Norfolk, thank you to the member of staff who gave us the leaflet so we can find it on the way back!More

Unfortunately the following day all members of the family were sick upset stomachs and vomiting. Given the only items common in our menu were the salads and we were from separate households guess greater care needs to be taken in food preparation during the hot...weather.More

Nice large cafe as part of the farm shop with kids outside play area. Plenty of seating inside and covered outside to keep the rain off. Good cafe menu and all day breakfast. Easy access for wheel chairs and buggies with easy access toilets. Plenty...of parking. Definitely recommend. Please like if this helped.More

Very nice place to see some farm animals and eat a good breakfast. I ordered a hamburger that was really tasty, with a very big portion of delicious fries. There's also a shop with food and gifts, and a small playground for children. Friendly staff...and fast service. Recommended.More

Excellent breakfast, freshly cooked to order. Possibly the best ever breakfast sausages as stated by my fussy husband! The whole place is very clean and welcoming with super friendly staff who are very attentive and helpful. They cater for all, with a lovely outside play...area, dog friendly seating section and a relaxed atmosphere. The fresh food in the shop looked incredible and there’s an interesting selection of gifts to browse. La Hogue is easy to find and we highly recommend a stop here. If we had arrived a bit later, there are plenty of choices for lunch on the menu. Overall, excellent, freshly cooked food and very good value for money.More

Decided to visit what used to be an old favourite - to our regret. Lunch menu is now a lot smaller than it used to be, with just the basics such as sandwiches and jacket potatoes unless you’re there on Sunday which we were. We...therefore went for the lamb Sunday lunch, expensive at nearly £18 each! The plate was covered in a runny gravy, the lamb was ‘pulled’ probably to hide how small the portion was they gave you, and the veg was steamed but not enough to soften the carrots. We had a dog with us and they gave us a seat in the covered conservatory, the seats were cheap outdoor seats that made it difficult to sit forward and eat your food. We also asked for water for the dog and were told the dog bowls were outside - they were bone dry. A high street cafe chain does a better welcome than here. There are plenty of places in the wider area that offer a better deal than here now, which is a shame as it used to be so good. Had a quick look round the shop and butchery whilst we were there to see the prices inflated compared to our normal shops and butchers, we won’t be returning.More
