Arrived at lunchtime and we were seated almost instantly. Every single one of the staff (Sandra especially) were welcoming, obliging and GENUINE. We had tea, salads and the fabulous ‘Isle of Ely pudding’ with clotted cream. Everything was super fresh and, even though it was...fairly busy, we felt that people had time for us… and MINDED that we had enjoyed our visit. Thank you so much, everyone!More

After reading reviews we decided to head here at 11.30 for an early lunch and miss any queues. We were seated at straight away by a lovely lady. My husband enjoyed the homemade lentil soup and cheese scone and I had the gorgeous fresh out...of the oven salmon and asparagus quiche both where delicious. We saved room for pudding and enjoyed cream scone and cake, with the most gorgeous Ely tea blend. The decor was beautiful, staff were lovely and the food was fabulous and came out quickly. A real treat!More

I must have missed this place before. I don't remember it, and I've walked this way many times. It's a delightful place - traditional, very, very English, but at the same time not overwhelmingly twee, and pretty relaxed and relaxing. It's very close to the...river, but feels happily enclosed. There are tables outside - dog friendly there at least - and the rooms inside are cosy without being crowded. The selection of teas is extraordinary, and the food that we had was excellent. The cream tea options look great too, and I'd be delighted to be back next time I'm in Ely.More

Wow, we decided to pop in after taking a tour on the liberty belle for an afternoon snack. It’s was about 3pm and there was a queue to get a seat, clearly as it’s so popular and the weather had brought everyone out. The staff...were clearly overwhelmed with everyone helping to serve, even the chef appeared to be bringing out food. Regardless of this the staff were all still smiling and taking the time to engage with customers. Once seated we decided to order the chocolate cream tea and I also had an iced coffee with an ice cream float, the iced coffee was truly delightful and the chocolate cream tea was amazing, I haven’t seen a chocolate cream tea on a menu anywhere so it really was a lovely surprise and thoroughly enjoyed. Huge praise to the staff as whilst I was there I overheard 2 completely ridiculous tables who were frankly rude and utterly ridiculous. Yet the staff still remained polite and accommodating and still with a smile on their faces.More

I usually love the salads at peacocks and have raves about them on many occasions. However, on this visit there was no dressing on the salad, no beetroot and bread (told they are no longer included) and they also forgot the potato salad. Prices have...gone up and I don’t feel they are justified.More

Got here just in time to be served on a Sunday afternoon. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was delicious - excellent warm fruit scone with jam and cream. The crockery was really pretty and traditional and there were so many teas...to choose from - something to please everyone. Very reasonable prices. Would certainly go again.More

We were bought a voucher to have afternoon tea here and the place was delightful. Delicious sandwiches and warm scones with a choice of jam, cake and a huge selection of tea. The service was excellent, extremely efficient and we were even offered a top...up of hot water on our choice of ‘Moriarty’ and ‘Dr Watson’ teas. We recently had an afternoon tea at ‘The Ivy’ in Cambridge and the quality of food was much better here and the prices a lot cheaper.More

I have visited Peacocks Tearoom many times. Beautiful little gem along the river bank, it hosts quaint gardens in the Summer and has a lovely warm, cozy and welcoming feeling inside on a winters day. After a winter walk recently , we visited and had...a lovely lunch and the best mince pies I have ever had. Lunch was our favourite, the open sandwiches on the light lunch menu, my favourite is the bacon and brie with the chutney... bliss! Love the inside decor - a beautiful place I will visit again and again!More

I'm so sorry but I honestly don't know if they allow small dogs (or any dogs). I do have a cocker spaniel but he didn't accompany me on the visit to this venue - but it IS superb!
