We saw the express menu & wanted to order several, drove there to be told the lunch menu is eat in only. If you made that clear I would not have travelled many miles to order, very misleading

Been here a few times now and every time it’s been great. Food always hot and great quality, staff welcoming and service faultless. Would definitely recommend. One of the best Thai restaurants in the area.
We had a lovely Thai meal here. Reasonable price and very good service in what was a busy restaurant. Food was excellent. Lots of choices for vegetarians.
We were greeted by the friendly staff upon arrival. Ordering drinks and food took place pretty swiftly. We were the first lots to be there, so didn't have to wait for too long for food. For starter, we had the Mix Starter. Although very tasty,...I wish they could double the portion. We are talking one serving per item, so you can't have another one because they taste so good. (Well, I'm sure you can if you order more.) For mains, we had a Gang Kiew Wan (Green Curry), a Weeping Tiger and a Pad Thai. As indicated on their menu, be aware that the Green Curry is quite spicy - not a problem for us as we can take that. Pad Thai is slightly on the "sweet" side, but still VERY NICE. Weeping tiger was just perfect!. All in all, food was GREAT! Service was good and friendly. A place that we would definitely return. We were there on a Friday night and glad we made a booking in advance. It got quite busy and they had to turn away a few walk-ins.More
We visited our son and family in Ely and wanted a takeaway. They recommended this restuarent and it did not disappoint. In fact I can safely say, it was the best Tai meal ever. All that this type of cuisine should be (and often isn't)...and more. The flavours balanced and brought together to taste great, with that extra bit of something that set it apart from the rest. Can't wait to have it again!More
We just walked in on a friday night and managed to get a table it was very busy but was quick friendly service . The menu was quite big we had a selection of starters dumplings, chilli beef and salt and pepper squid which was all...lovely i had a beef massamam which wasn’t great chewy beef and quite a thin sauce we also had a spicy fried fish dish which was good and a really nice pad thai .More
We enjoyed a superb set menu with lovely authentic Thai flavours . The portions were very generous and efficiently served with a smile. A great evening out we shall definitely return.
We have eaten take away from here a long time ago, but revisited tonight and wasn’t let down at all. Simple to order, plenty of options and fast delivery. The BEST Thai option around and we will use again and again. Superb service and super...authentic tasty food again. Highly recommend these guys 👍🏼More
Excellent set lunch I ordered Pad Thai and my partner the Red Thai Curry, both were very fresh and tasty, good value for just over the £10 mark including a small side dish/starter as an accompliment to the main meal.Coca Cola in a glass bottle...is somehow noticeably tastier also, couldn't fault the whole experience, will be back soon.More
We have eaten there and gotten takeaway and delivery. Fish cakes and spring rolls are good, along with all the Thai favorites.
We have been visiting this restaurant several times a month for years now, sometimes as frequently as weekly as we really enjoy the food but we probably won't bother again. We'd already given them a second chance after an incident last year and now just...really feel like they don't value their loyal customers at all. Last summer we went in for dinner one night and I ordered my usual crispy fried cod in Thai red sauce and the cod shockingly came out very obviously rancid. As soon as I cut into it, the smell of ammonia was overpowering and everyone at our table, and even the table next to us could smell it. I advised the waiter straight away but he did not apologise (I wasn't surprised, the couple that I presume own it have always been very pleasant and friendly, but the older male waiter has always been very rude despite us being regulars, not even acknowledging you when you speak to him etc) he merely took it away and asked if I would like another one. As I'd already had a starter and wasn't confident that the replacement would be any fresher I declined and tried to make light of it by saying that it was fine as I was full enough from the starter anyway, so there was no need to cook me a replacement thank you. He just walked off as if he'd been put out more than I had been, with not so much as an offer of a free drink or dessert instead, or even an apology despite the fact that the fish was very obviously off and I wasn't merely being fussy. How the chef hadn't smelt it when he cooked it I have no idea! Maybe it was due to it being during the time when everyone was wearing masks still? The people at the adjacent table were shaking their heads as they couldn't believe how bad my fish had smelt, or the waiter's reaction, but I reassured them that we were regulars and this had never happened to us before, so they should not worry about their food. After we left the owner ran out after us (he obviously didn't want to have to discuss it in front of other patrons) to apologise for the fish and assured us that it is always purchased fresh, so he did not know what had happened but his wife had apparently told him that we were regular customers so he said he wanted to apologise to us personally (he probably knew his rude waiter wouldn't have bothered to). I said it was fine and that I've had that same dish many, many times before and the fish has never been off before, so I appreciated that it was not a regular occurrence and thanked him for his apology, despite the fact it did not even come with an offer of a free drink or something on our next visit - as would have been nice given we were regulars and I'd left without my dinner that evening! We didn't let the experience put us off though and continued to visit. This evening we visited with a friend and the three of us ordered food and drinks as usual. I almost always have the cod in Thai red sauce if we go in for dinner as opposed to lunch but decided to try something slightly different and so ordered the cod in tamarind sauce instead for a change. When it came out the sauce was extremely sweet and sickly and didn't really go with fish, it was more suited to meat I think, like a sticky sweet and sour sauce you'd expect to find on pork ribs for example. My partner tried a bit and agreed that it was very sickly and he couldn't have eaten it either so I politely explained to the waiter (the younger male, the owner's son?) that I usually order the number 40 but had decided to give the 42 a try instead but really didn't like it as it was far too sweet for me, so would he mind bringing me a tiny amount of the Thai red sauce I usually have on it to pour on instead. He said no problem and about 15 minutes later brought out a bowl of my usual sauce and so I was able to enjoy my meal as usual. When we got the bill I was really surprised to see that I had been charged £4 for this bowl of sauce! The cod had already cost £14.45 and as the rice to accompany it is never included, that had cost an additional £3.50 on top of what was already a fairly expensive meal for what you get (three small pieces of battered fish in sauce with no vegetables or anything), so I really did not think, especially given we are in there all the time that they would dream of adding an extra £4 onto a meal that had already cost almost £18, just for a bit of sauce! When he came back to take the bill I said that I hadn't expected to be charged for the sauce and if I'd known it was going to cost me an extra £4 I wouldn't have bothered but he said nothing in response. Most restaurants would want you to enjoy your meal and would be only too happy to swap the sauce if you did not like it - it wasn't as if I was asking for the meal to be changed, I had merely wanted a small amount of my usual sauce in order to be able to enjoy my meal as I did not like the sauce it had came served with, so I thought this was incredibly poor form, especially given we are very regular customers as I say. There are other Thai restaurants in Ely, so we'll be giving them our custom in future, as this left a very bad taste in my mouth - far worse than their sickly tamarind sauce!More
1st time eating Thai food as most of the time I've eaten Chinese food! We found this place by accident as was looking for Italian Restaunt in Ely, I'm not familiar with Ely so we saw this Eat Thai restaunt and tried the Lunch Menu.....I had the Thai green curry which was very tasty and yummy which is the first time I've had a green curry! Will definitely be returning as I really liked the Thai food now 😋More
We were out with a friend in wheelchair and the staff helped us in. The food was excellent - served hot and very tasty. The staff were very attentive - nothing was too much trouble. If you are visiting Ely you should try this restaurant....You will not be disappointedMore
We have had deliveries from Eat Thai a few times and they have been fantastic but eating at the restaurant was even better. The food was outstanding and amazing service. I would recommend Eat Thai to anyone - just sensational, authentic Thai food. Will go...back again and again.More
Been a while since we were here, so on a trip to Ely, we dropped in for lunch. Very pleasant staff, excellent decor and this time, quite busy. Standard menu, or 2 courses from £7.95. We went for the 2 courses option and paid extra...for beef/chicken on the pad thai. States and mains served together very quickly, piping hot, superb aroma and authentic taste. Added to which, we had some iced tea too. Excellent meal throughout and a great pleasure to go back. Highly recommendedMore
