Six of us arrived at 2.15 pm after a 3 hour walk and were told they stopped serving at 2pm. The bar was empty so we had a drink and the only food available was a bag of crisps - the amazing choice of plain or salt & vinegar. Chose plain then discovered the packets were 2 days past their... More

A good value plate of quality fish and chips followed by strawberry cheesecake dessert made for an excellent meal tonight for 6 of us. The food was served on time and we all enjoyed the taste and piping hot dish.

We ate at the Hotel last week whilst on a short break away and unlike the past we had a poor experience. We ordered meat balls which came pink in the middle for our guest, and my good lady's veg option was miniscule and not very tasty. The meat balls went back and we reordered. I had some fried Calamari... More

I would advise that we have two new chefs and both had been using the oven which resulted in a reduction of temperature and the keftas being a little pink. Your complaint at the time resulted in a system change to ensure this does not happen again. Having apologized we took the keftas off your bill and you reordered calamari... More

This restaurant bar is a local tradition catering to large groups, such as fishing charters and sailing rallies, as well as to individuals and smaller groups of visitors and walkers. They have on offer delightful if pricey wines and the menu is varied having something for everyone including children.

Although a stiff walk from the harbour it was worth the effort. We all had starters and mains which just left no room for pud. The terraces are great but watch the damaged step to the top one. A little too cold for us to try eating out. Comfy seats were available for our pre-dinner drinks and while the waitress... More

Thank you for your review. We are less than a 10 minute walk from the harbour, you head uphill towards town and turn first left so easier to come to us than go to town. The flipside is that it is downhill going back to the harbour! I can confirm the damaged step was fixed as soon as we realized... More

We walked a fair way from the quay with our life jackets and stuff to reach this restaurant after ignoring the expensive or just disinterested restaurants at the quay. We are pleased we did. The food was interesting and well cooked. The only negative was a bottle house wine that was served warm. Schoolboy error that we solved by adding... More

Having visited the Harbour Lights regular for several years, it was sad to see it had a rather run down appearance this year. The wonderful terraces were weedy, the clientele very much reduced. I hope on my next visit things have improved.

I regret that our terrace was not completely ready for the season but in fairness our season has not yet begun and we had concentrated on painting the tables/oak sleepers and had weeded half the terrace. This week we will finish the job as we will have our seasonal workers in readiness for those wishing to enjoy the fabulous views... More

Fantastic value for money, their early bird menu to be ordered by 7.15 pm is excellent, at least three choices of starter, main and dessert, sticky toffee pudding yum!

Very pleasant start to our evening sitting on the terraces at the rear of the hotel soaking up the evening sun after managing to buy a drink at the cramped bar served by staff who do not know how to pour beer. After that thing were not good in parts - the menu looked good when we finnally recieved them... More

Where do I begin in regard to reviewing this superb restaurant. The menu will speak for itself. For the Alderney Seafood Festival Menu the delights of such excellent cuisine will speak for itself. As a starter there was : Alderney Crab, Haricots Beans, Chorizo and saffron Chowder, followed by: Tuna Salad Nicoise then: Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese Ravioli with... More

Dear Reverend Chris, thank you very much for your very positive review. I see this month we have also been featured very positively in BFM magazine as well as Food and Travel magazine so naturally delighted that our fantastic chefs are getting the publicity and recognition they deserve. More

The Harbour Lights is a very popular restaurant renowned for its English and European cuisine and in particular fresh seafood. Our chef uses the freshest ingredients to produce mouth watering dishes which are beautifully presented.Lunch (12.00-2.00) and dinner (6.30 to 9.00)are served in both the restaurant and Bistro. Snacks are also available in the Bistro.Weather permiting you may prefer to dine in one of the five terraces. Our upper terrace is particularly popular as you are surrounded by exotic plants, grasses, palms and flowers, it has hand carved Indian sandstone paving and private alcolves made from railway sleepers. Then there is the peace and quiet and fabulous sea view. We are able to cater for any number of diners as well as cater for all sorts of functions including weddings, birthdays etc.
