If you can't find something on the menu, there's something wrong with you!! So much choice, and all delicious and beautifully presented. Service is fast and friendly, and staff are super efficient. We had a lovely evening, we were a large group and the staff coped with our varying orders with ease and efficiency making sure everyone was happy. I went for one of the buffet options and the food was outstanding, especially the coconut and chicken...soup. Will definitely visit again when next in Chester.More

We received a very warm welcome despite not having pre-booked. Service was fabulous and the food was gorgeous. Wished we lived closer so we could visit more often. Will definitely be back when next in Chester.

Absolutely blown away by the dining experience here. The decor is beautiful and really adds to the atmosphere and experience. The service and attention to detail cannot be faulted with the staff being extra attentive towards allergies and always double checking to confirm. You’d be...amazed how many places fall short here and will just have a “maybe yeah whatever attitude” which is concerning. Not the case at Ruan, the staff double checked what they could do to meet GF requirements and it was very reassuring. The food was absolutely delicious with just the right amount in every portion. I highly recommend the pad Thai or the red curry. And last but not least, it was extremely good value for the money which is a rarity! Two drinks, two starters, two mains for £50 including a well deserved service charge, you really can’t knock that in an authentic Thai restaurant in Chester.More

After reading the reviews we booked to come here so glad we did the food was delicious and service was excellent very busy restaurant but we didn’t wait long for our food. Would definitely recommend this place.

We were recommended the Ruan Orchid by our hotel and it turned out to be an excellent choice. It’s a charming old building with service to match: friendly and efficient and a chat with the owner. There’s an extensive menu but we went for old...favourites - shared starter of chicken satay, massaman and red curries - and they were absolutely delicious, home made with lots of fresh vegetables. We live at the top of the road which is dangerous living so close to so many nice places to eat. Been several times and never ever had a bad experience. Ambient and lovely staff who are so polite. Yellow curry is Devine! We will...be returning again and again.More

We went to Ruan Orchid with my family for a birthday meal and it did not disappoint. We loved that the prawn crackers are served with peanut sauce - it started the meal off splendidly! We then thoroughly enjoyed the chicken satay and stuffed chicken...wings. I had the crispy noodles for main which was just divine, perfectly light and I really liked how the noodles went from crispy to perfectly soft in the sauce. Two of my family also had the pad Thai which smelt brilliant. All in all an amazing meal.More

Visited Chester in august, and have had this place recommended by friends so we were lucky enough to get a walk in. Greeted by a lovely woman, owner I’m guessing. Shown to a table. Lovely little restaurant. Very friendly, incredibly welcoming. Great menu, we had...crispy kimchi which was absolutely delicious, then I had the thick squid penang hot red curry which was amazing and my friend had the yellow curry. Portions were really good, food was delicious, couldn’t fault it at all. Definitely up there with the better Thai restaurants. Highly recommendedMore

We booked a table for 19.30. On arrival at the restaurant on time, but no table was available. We were told to “come back later” no specific time given. A group sitting near the entrance overheard our conversation and said they had finished their meal...and would be leaving soon. My colleagues and I left the restaurant, and did some window shopping. I looked back up the road and noticed the group were leaving the restaurant. So my colleagues and I returned, we gestured to sit at the table, but again we were turned away being told they had to prepare the table. I asked if we could wait at the entrance way but was again told to leave and return later. But that was the final straw, We dined elsewhere. My wife and I are regular visitor to Thailand, and love the place. But welcome given to us at this restaurant was dreadful. This was my fourth visit to the restaurant but alas will NOT return.More
