Just returned from a break in Chester. We came across the restaurant whilst walking past. We popped in to ask if they offered a gluten free menu, the staff confirmed 95% of the menu could be accommodated, music to our ears. Made a reservation for that evening. We weren’t disappointed, My mum had a GF pizza the same size as mine. She felt equal for a change and didn’t have to be the odd one out. Staff, food and atmosphere fantastic. We booked for the following evening, mum had pasta, I had the same looked identical, staff knew they had a GF guest and explained the menu. Thanks La Fattoria your staff are a credit to you.

Walked in without booking last night (Thursday evening around 6) and we were lucky to get a table as it was really busy. Tried getting in here last time we were in Chester 5 years ago but it was full, so we were chuffed to get in this time especially without a booking.
From start to finish it was all amazing. When I say it was busy that isn’t a negative, we love a quiet meal sometimes, but the atmosphere in La Fattoria was buzzing. It felt very rustic and like a true Italian restaurant. It was full of happy people clearly having a really nice time.
The staff were fantastic, very attentive and friendly without being over the top. Professional but really comical at the same time. We couldn’t stop smiling and laughing! One waiter recommended a white wine local wine to his home town, which was stunning. My other half doesn’t like wine but he loved this one! Would like to add that the staff are a credit to the restaurant and really made the whole experience.
Menu was really extensive. I’m veggie and sometimes struggle in Italian restaurants as everything seems to contain Parmesan which isn’t veggie. The veggie options here are fantastic, clearly labelled with a few vegan options too by the looks of it.
We had a bowl of olives (delicious), a tomato pizza bread and an avocado, tomato mozzarella salad for starters which were all beautiful. One of the nicest garlic breads we have ever had! Aubergine and tomato linguine (veggie) and a bacon and mushroom linguine for mains, both out of this world, huge portions and so fresh. Just perfect pasta. We both keep saying the next day that it is probably the nicest Italian meal we have ever had.
We will 100% be back next time we are in the city and it made our last night and anniversary so memorable. Thank you so much!

We really enjoyed our meal here. We debated waiting in the queue for a table but we are glad we did. The atmosphere great and the food delicious. The menu was extensive. We didn’t wait long for food and the staff were very attentive but not intrusive, this is often a downfall for a busy restaurant. Excellent!

Visiting this place is not a relaxing experience. The chaotic runaround of the staff leaves service comprised and the din of kitchen to service staff shouting adds to the tension in the air. There is a hint of arrogance in the approach of the waiting staff that's difficult to overlook given prices. Most disappointing is the quality of the food. The bruscetta was drenched in oil and the pizza was way off other Italian offerings in Chester. The pasta dishes we saw being whipped out of the kitchen made us regret ordering pizza so maybe that's where we went wrong. Will honestly try the pasta but the fact its so easy to make at home makes choosing this place a difficult one.

I was so disappointed with what I witnessed when picking up a take-away from La Fattoria last night! From what I observed, they have not implemented any anti-Covid measures. Diners were not 2m apart. The staff were not wearing masks and were close to the diners. When one group left, their table was wiped in the same way as usual with no extra attention given to replacing the condiments on the table or cleaning the chairs. People who had to queue to get in were huddled together in the tight door space. The biggest shock of all was when one senior member of staff shook hands with a couple arriving for their meal. I have always loved eating at La Fattoria but this lack of consideration for following the measures has put me off ever returning. I would rather support the businesses who have have put a lot of time and effort into making their restaurants Covid-safe.

We telephoned this restaurant 2 weeks in advance to book for 3.00pm on a Saturday afternoon. The guy who took the booking was unprofessional, so we followed up to check. When we eventually got through after 3 days of trying there was no sign of our booking so we had to book again.
When we turned up at the restaurant at 2.55pm there was a queue out onto the street & at least 5 other 3.00pm bookings waiting for tables. We left & went to Artezan which was very nice. Either take bookings or run a ‘first come first served’, but don’t take bookings you have no intention of honouring.

We arrived on time, had to wait a little as the restaurant was full, always a good sign to see a busy restaurant! Atmosphere was lively and great spirits, lighting was dim and set a lovely romantic feel. I had the fillet steak which was cooked to perfection, best steak I've ever had in an italian, my partner had the veal, we chose to have sauted potatoes, only down fall we both said lacked some greens, we could of paid to have some spinach but that was £4 extra, which we thought was expensive. Beautiful meal and would definitely recommend and go back tomorow. The staff were also excellent

We visited La Fatoria for lunch and we’re shown to our table and given menus quickly, but that is where it ended. 4 waiters wandered between another 5 tables and not one came to take our drink order for a very long time. We had to call a waiter over to place a drinks and our food order. Food was just satisfactory, portions and taste nothing special. After we had finished, yet again no one came to collect our plates within any respectable time frame. We signalled the waiter for the bill which came and again that is where nothing further happened. We left the table, paid at a till and left with no gratitude from any waiter, who were all to busy talking amongst themselves and looking at by-passers. Shocking service for a very quiet restaurant.
Heard a lot about this restaurant, but that was the first and last time we will go there. Much better service at other Italian restaurants in Chester and Hooke.

Recommend by a local friend. Booked a table (highly recommend) had to wait half an hour but weather was nice so not a problem. The place was in full swing on a Tuesday evening with visitors and locals. Staff were all in facemasks. Highly friendly and attentive service.
Menu had a good selection. Food came fast and hot. Each dish was lovely. Will definitely return when next in Chester.

I had the Risotto marinara, it is a seafood dish, it came very hot, and it was still hot when i finished it, it has seafood almost in every bite . The staff is very efficint, when you need help , they are all of a sudden there. The place is very busy and i can see why. Would i go back , I sure would. it is well worth the visit.

I had very high expectations after trying over 20 times to call and book a table. On arrival we were greeted by very friendly staff and seated quickly. Drinks and food orders taken quite promptly. No problem with service here at all. However we ordered 2 double vodkas with mixer. Came in the smallest of glasses (whiskey) and could not taste vodka at all. So when I ordered next drinks I ordered the coke an the shots of vodka separate to ensure it was actually said measure. Food came my Tagliatelle fungi was piping hot and delicious however husbands lasagne sauce was bubbling hot but when he cut into lasagne it was just about warm on the inside, told waiter switching dish was not a problem 2nd lasagne came and had same problems. 3rd lasagne came and was finally thoroughly hot but mediocre. As much as I enjoyed my food the messing around put a dampener on the night. Excellent customer service as no charge was made for my husbands dish but when the bill came I nearly fell off my chair. £35 for 4 "double" vodkas. Shocking. This is the price you would expect in a high end bar not a small family run Italian. Shocked and very disappointed. Unfortunately will not be back.

It’s been a few years since we visited this fantastic Italian but we weren’t left disappointed! Although they were very busy the service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere in the place is simply the best. Bustling loud Italian dining at its best. The food - simply amazing. We shared a starter then shared a pizza and pasta dish and it was simply divine. We only visit Chester every few years but I guarantee we will return here again. Amazing night and amazing food !

Greeted by a young arrogant man which made me want to turn around and walk. Very off putting. Anyway seated seated and waited a good ten minutes to be served. It took the guy on the table next to us to say “have you still not been served” he called someone over as we were in the corner. The lady who served us was really nice. Ordered two diet cokes (cans) ? Lasagne and king prawn linguine. I was not impressed. Seen bigger and better prawns from the supermarket. Lasagne was ok, served on its own you have to order side salad/garlic bread ect at additional cost. The place is chaotic and was not relaxed there at all. All in all meal ok but would not return.

Overall a nice restaurant experience. The food was lovely with large portion sizes of the pasta which was well cooked and didn’t wait long for our food. On the other hand, considering restaurants are supposed to be accommodating for covid, the tables were very close together and was very busy in the restaurant. Was also very noisy so difficult to hear people on table speaking. Was also very hot in the restaurant. Not the best Italian restaurant in Chester but was a nice lunch with friends.

absolutely delighted to have found this gorgeous restaurant just round the corner from our hotel. Having read the reviews on here we went with high expectations and we were not disappointed. Strongly advise booking in advance as this place is so popular and busy. On approaching the restaurant we were met with the buzz of chat & laughter as the front windows were all slid opened and the atmosphere was just amazing, such a traditional buzzing little place. we were also met with the aroma of garlic😋 made us even hungrier before we got inside. staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was gorgeous, very authentic and tasty. We had Spaghetti Bolognaise, Linguine Gamberi and 2 different pizzas. we could watch our pizzas being made & cooked from our seats. we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Kids said the ice cream was delicious. I enjoyed small bottles of Prosecco with my meal & my husband had ice cold bottles of Peroni. After we’d paid we were given complimentary Limoncello which was a lovely gesture. If you’re thinking of eating Italian then definitely go here! Just wish we were nearer and we’d visit more often
