We had a family room which had a comfortable sofa bed for our little one. Room was nice and large so we had space to spread out. Room could do with a little tlc (a lick of paint here and there) but really lovely and great value for the price we paid. Continental breakfast was included and was really nice,... More

Good atmosphere here and some bar staff more helpful than others. Lunch menu disappointing and overpriced.

First visit to the pub with friends. Nice and cosy pub, dog friendly! Service was not great, it seemed as though the staff were struggling to keep the fort even though it was not a busy night. Food was hit and miss, some of it was good and some wasn't. Some plates were well presented and some came out sloppy,... More

Stayed here during Valentine's week, we were allocated a room in the block outside which was clean and comfortable and when we turned up the heating was very warm. Booked a Valentines meal which was very good value, dessert was amazing - tastes of chocolate to share yummy! Waitress was very friendly and efficient. Went down for breakfast 9.15am and... More

This is a lovely location with plenty of walks and a lovely building with lots of character. We had booked an overnight stay and can't fault the accommodation our room was in the out building and it was fabulous. The disappointing part was the customer service or more lack of customer service we received. Upon arrival we waited by the... More

Me and my boyfriend booked here for a one night stay on a Friday as we were booked in for a meal at ring o bells which is only a 5 minute walk up the road. So perfect distance for us to be able to have a drink. On arrival we waited to check in, the lad who checked us... More

Great place to stay. We stayed two nights. Staff were really friendly. Continental breakfast was good. Rooms nice. location is perfect for visiting Chester. Canal right nxt to the inn. We hope to go back and take more of the family next time. I can't comment on the restaurant as we only had breakfast.

The good news was the availability of a late table, a good welcome, a decent ambience and good food. As per most pubs the wine prices per glass take some believing. I chose the £21.95 three course option; my wife had a fish main from the a la carte. As the camembert starter on my menu said 'suitable for sharing'... More

We booked for one overnight for Valentine's Evening. We were lucky because we had Room 1 which was actually above the Pub. The staff are very friendly and helpful at all times and the food was very good. The menu is of a mixed variety, something to please everyone. We love staying at Innkeeper's Lodges, because they are always connected... More
