Nice atmosphere, was good for a few drinks, felt a bit tired inside but pretty traditional. Nice to go onto the second level of the high street.

Popped in for drinks whilst shopping in Chester. Didn't eat there but the place was full and the food that came out looked good and the curry smelt really good. Get there early as space is limited.

I am from Australia and have never had a traditional English beef roast with the Yorkshire pudding before and this meal was beautiful! Could not complain about any aspect of it, good price, massive plateful and so tender. Emma, who was on the bar, was so friendly and delightful to deal with and all in a traditional English pub setting.... More

Good quality sandwiches served with crisps and salad. Fast, friendly and efficient service. Not cheap but reasonable value. As it was a cold day succumbed to jam sponge pudding and custard to follow, washed down with the mandatory pot of tea. Relaxed atmosphere and a very popular place judging by our visit.

I am not sure if this is the oldest pub on the Rows but it certainly qualifies. It stands just near the cross, look up the steps and you will find it at the end of the Rows. If you want good old fashioned English food then this is the place to go. I had the cottage pie and very... More
