We called in for a bite to eat whilst visiting Chester. Chose afternoon tea for £9.99 and got a pot of tea, 3 finger sandwiches, a cake of our choice and a fruit scone with clotted cream/jam. Fantastic service and great value for money. The staff were lovely and even swapped sandwiches for us as we didn't like the standard... More

Whilst in Chester we visited yet again for our lunch. It was fairly quiet but the staff were friendly and polite as always. We had the set lunch menu and really enjoyed it, we also ordered a child's meal which was good value and a big portion. We left with full tummys and a very satisfied child

This is a very quaint and old fashioned building and very atmospheric. I ordered a tuna, bacon and cheese salad which was nicely presented. The service was slow and a bit haphazard. The hot drink I ordered was cool (filter coffee), but the staff were busy and didn't ask if everything was ok so I left the majority of the... More

We went here for lunch and both had very nice sandwiches which came with salad and crisps. The prices were fair and service was good. Best to note that if you have trouble with stairs the toilet is up at least two flights and quite a walk.

Had a very enjoyable lunch, and provided gluten free bread as requested. Service was quick and efficient even though it was a busy period on Saturday.

I had a terrible meal served up to me. It was supposed to be Welsh Rarebit with two rashers of bacon and a pot of tea. It was all burnt the bacon just crumbled on contact. To save causing a scene I went to counter and informed waitress that I was not happy. She came and took it away. when... More

I go here often with family and friends. It is very large, so always space to sit, attentive staff, a wide variety on the menu compared to other similar tea rooms. I tend to get a sausage batch, full English breakfast, or prawn Marie rose sandwich, all of which are of good quality, and consistent standard. The architecture is lovely... More
