A warm welcome from the staff to this small buzzing restaurant. All the food was absolutely delicious with wonderful seasonal flavours. Wild garlic soup to start was delicious and it was so thoughtful to add sautéed jersey royals as a wheat free alternative due to my allergy. I enjoyed chicken with a very special black garlic sauce that I'll have... More

Just got back from a truly fantastic dinner. This is a small restaurant with an open kitchen and young, enthusiastic staff. The menu is short but imaginative with each dish having the most amazing contrasts. Salmon and watermelon, asparagus croquet Monsieur, lamb and fennel, a variety of cauliflower dishes, candy floss on trifle, while chocolate and bitter passion fruit. Every... More

I reviewed this place a couple of months ago, very positively. On Easter Saturday we returned with foodie friends who were v impressed, murmuring things like "one of the best meals I have eaten for ages". It was well up to the previous standard. The highlight was puddings; not to say the rest wasn't but this time we all had... More

It was our fifth visit and the first when we have had anything to quibble about. As ever so much was so good. The Spanish sparkling shiraz to start with was soft and brilliantly chosen. Starters of ox tongue and asparagus were experimental and worked brilliantly - masters of design, texture and execution. The main course of chicken with dauphinoise... More

I find one of the delights of life is eating with friends, second to that is talking about eating good food and for an unsurpassed double whammy there is talking about excellent food while you are eating with friends. I recently had the pleasure of eating at the delightful Chefs table in Chester. The atmosphere was excellent on a busy... More

Very small and cosy so book well in advance. Very well staffed with a high ratio of staff to customers. As I said in the title there are weird combinations of food, think they are looking to stand out in the crowd of places to eat in Chester, but it works well. The food is tasty, presented well and just... More

I visited this restaurant yesterday with my partner, his sister and her husband. We were all blown away with the food, hospitality and general vibe of this place. We haven't stopped talking about how good the food was! My partner is mega fussy (he has a childs pallet lol) even he thoroughly enjoyed his meal and it has broadened his... More

Our 5th visit here and excellent as ever. Inventive, interesting menu results in a taste sensation. Incredible value and brilliant knowledgeable staff. Don't know how the chefs manage what they do in the tiny kitchen.
