Just returned after 2 nights stay in the floating pods with a dog The accommodation was immaculately clean, comfortable with mod cons Had breakfast in boat house both morning which was good value and lovely Staff extremely friendly and helpful including the manager suggesting walks...and restaurants Overall stay was enjoyable, relaxing and very dog friendly Will definitely be returning for mini breaks in the futureMore
The day self drive boats are brilliant. Good value, well equipped, easy to operate and you see a world you normally never get to see from the road. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Can totally recommend.
We went there yesterday to get a late breakfast/lunch and arrived just before 12 noon. When we entered there was no greeting or even acknowledgement of us coming in. Clearly we must have unknowingly must have slipped on our invisibility cloaks. We took a seat...and saw that breakfast was only served up to 12, so decided to order quickly. The invisibility aspect was clearly still an issue as we were still being ignored by the staff. So at about 5 past the hour my wife sought out someone to speak to and was quickly refused service of breakfast, she then enquired about lunch and was told they weren’t going to be serving any. Only option was to leave and seek a better reception somewhere else, which was obviously not going to be too difficult. As we left at about 20 past the hour, a good supply of delicious looking full breakfasts were still being delivered to tables, quite a paradox. So, not a great impression of the place in terms of service and despite being local, it’s unlikely we will be bothering to venture in again. Poor service and no desire to be a little flexible despite causing the issue in the first place by ignoring us. Thanks very much.More
We stayed in the floating glamping pod it was ideal for us and the dogs the boathouse was great food was very nice we also had entertainment and all the people at the marina made us feel very welcome
We stopped as part of our canal boat trip on the way to Chester and it was so good we made a special trip back again on the return trip! The first time was for coffee and cake and the second for a full breakfast!...Everything was absolutely superb! Freshly cooked and beautifully served breakfast with probably the best scrambled eggs ever! Cannot fauly the extremely friendly and efficient service. All in all. . . 10 out of 10!!! NOTE: If you are travelling by canal and want to enter the marina then fine, but if youre not confident actually berthing inside the marina (as we weren't!) then there are good mooring spots outside the marina itself. But the cafe is then not so easy to get to. If you stop on the moorings on the left before the entrance and then there's a small walkway/bridge almost hidden in the hedgerow about 100 yards back along the canal bank. This takes you into the marina. Otherwise its over a 5 bar gate! But believe me. . the effort is ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!!More
The amazing, gorgeous break away! We stayed in the floating pods and they were absolutely gorgeous!! the best weekend, so relaxing and welcoming! all the staff were fantastic and the location is out of this world!! we will be returning
Absolutely beautiful surroundings that are well taken care of. Plenty of Wildlife to see. Cafe is very clean and the meals are lovely. The hosts olly and T are really nice people, warm and inviting. All the staff are helpful, friendly, funny and talented they are...a really good asset, love this place. Steve is an amazing guy, always has a smile, nothing is to much trouble for him, he is a true asset and a treasure, I sincerely hope he is valued by the management and owners as much as he is valued by the boaters.More
Stayed two nights in the floating pod. The welcome was very warm. The pod was beautiful and very comfortable. We had a fantastic sleep on both nights. Enjoyed hand feeding the swans and watching the birds in flight of an evening. Had the sun all...day. We ate in the boat house it was full very good atmosphere the service was fantastic. The food was gorgeous and the handmade mergine for desert was out of this world. Loved the weekend away it was very relaxing and for the money this is a bargain for what we got. We have paid more in other places and not had the quality as this place has. Highly recommendedMore
My brother had booked a pop here and we moored our boat outside , booked a table for tea staff were soo helpful nothing was too much trouble even did a special tea for grand daughter would definitely go back well done x
Went for Sunday lunch and what a letdown. it wasn't busy in fact only a couple of tables, the staff three young ladies were great, very attentive, the real let down was the food it took ages to turn up then when it did, yuk...what a let down hardly any meat on the plate, uncomplimented with 3 very small frozen roast potatoes that had clearly been quickly overcooked in an overheated chip fryer and the rest of the dinner, like the roast potatoes, appeared to of come directly from the local Makro freezer. Overall very disappointing.More

Lovely place for a coffee and a bite to eat. Staff were helpful and nice. Nice scenery and very quite. They also serve beer if that's what your after.
Been wanting to visit here for a while. WORTH THE WAIT AMAZING! Great food (breakfast) tea and cake (yes cake too don't judge me 😂) I was there a while - doing a bit of work. Unbelievable views and peace. Great service and tasty food.
Beatifully positioned about 8 miles from Chester, you'll need a few bob spare whether its to put your boat here, or to buy lunch, but it's a hidden gem,
