Booked lunch for myself and my son as he had finished school and we wanted somewhere different for lunch as a 'non chain' this seemed ideal. We had the salt and pepper chicken burgers, a small starter and 2 soft drinks and the bill was...£43.00. Def not worth it, the burgers were very chewy and hard clearly over cooked. We had chicken bites for a small starter, these too were very chewy. Sadly we wont be visiting again. The good points - very nice and friendly staff which is a shame the food didn't match the team.More

Visited as a family of 3 with a small child. We sat outside, took a while for someone to come take our order, they didn’t wipe or clean the table (with covid I thought this would be priority so we did it our selves with...a wet wipe and hand sanitizer). We ordered and the food took quite a while to come and with a small hungry child we were on the verge of cancelling our order and going somewhere else but then our food arrived, about 40 minutes wait for 2 burgers, a portion of chips and a kids meal. Quite expensive for what it was and the burgers don’t come with chips.More

We ordered a takeaway from here, staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The burgers were delicious and sweet potato fries were amazing! Really helpful with a gluten allergy, plenty of options. Can’t wait to come back!

I’ve been wanting to visit for ages and never managed to get a seat as it’s always been full! Finally got to visit today and the burgers were nice but not great (really thin chicken patty, brioche bun, siracha mayo, gherkins, American style cheese square...and some rather soggy lettuce) and at £11 per burger, and an additional £4 for a smallish portion of McDonald’s style fries, I was left feeling pretty unsatisfied, the value for money is not there, I was expecting to be blown away given the price. Nice little place, really friendly staff, let down by the food!More

Stopped in for some tea, only 4 of us. 2 hotdogs, 2 burgers, 1 mug of fries, 1 fajita fries and 1 chilli fries, 1 x 330ml of diet coke and a 1 x 330ml of normal coke. 3 of the Halloween milkshakes and one...bottle of warm tap water and the bill was £77!! To say I was shocked was an understatement!! Extremely pricey for what it was. Cant fault the food, it was excellent tasting. Will not be returning though, sorry. Just way to expensive for what it was.More

I ordered cheeseburger which was nice but the burger was to small for the bun. I also had hot wings, I asked how many get, was told 8. When they arrived they was tiny I’m not joking, almost insulting. The hot sauce although somewhat spicy...tasted very vinegary. I told the waitress when she collected the plates she just shrugged and waltzed off. My daughter scoffed the mac n cheese. Son ate all his hot dog, wife enjoyed the burger but was not keen on the burger sauce. There are Better places to eat at in Chester.More

Prides itself on not being part of a chain, and you can tell the difference. Friendly and unfussy service, and the burgers are really good. Recommend the salt & pepper fries.

Stopped at Burger Shed during our week off. Burger was delicious. Change from eating below par burgers. Caple Road cider was a perfect drink to quench the thirst on a boiling hot day. Staff were very friendly, which is always a plus.

Came across this Restaurant whilst venturing around Chester. Our first impression was it looked clean, presentable and decent place to stop and have a bite to eat. Plenty of tables outside which was good, we hadn't booked but were fortunate to be seated immediately outside....After a short period we noticed the place was getting busy but had already ordered our food and wanted to sit inside as it was getting cold, the staff were very accommodating to this and got us a table inside, this was very much appreciated. We ordered a small selection of food ranging from the Frankfurter Pork Hot Dog which costs £6.00, decent size, but remembering its just a large hot dog with fried onions and mustard. Also ordered the Rindwurst Beef Hot Dog also priced at £6.00 again just a large hot dog with fried onions and mustard. We ordered a separate portion of sweet potato fries £4.00, which was good size. Chicken Popcorn £6.00 sadly this was a measly portion considering the cost, finally a side of Chilli Con Carne which was really small but then again it was only priced at £2.00. For the drinks we chose the Cream Soda and Root Beer both priced at £2.60 each. The manager on duty gave me the non-itemised which should have been to my calculations £29.20, but was in fact £ 30.55. Our intention was to leave a cash tip of 3.00 for the waitress for her excellent service as the presentation, quality and attentiveness combined was great but I personally was quite peeved off that the manager charged an additional £1.35 somehow. In hindsight it was a miniscule amount to quibble over so I left it and didn't make a fuss but it made me change my mind over leaving the £3.00 cash gratuity for the waitress. for the record this was not an inclusive service charge as I would have noticed that on the menu whilst browsing, it was obviously just a little extra she had added to the bill somehow but I cant say how as it was not itemised. In light of this deceitful approach I cant give the restaurant the full excellent review, nevertheless, this eatery does deserve the very good rating. Despite this issue, I would still recommend this eatery primarily because its an independent establishment striving to make a mark in the difficult hospitality industry. I would like to remind the manager that she should be more mindful in future when pricing up a diners bill as miniscule deceitful costings like this will leave a bitter taste especially if you want your diners returning. Opens 11.30 - 9.pm everyday apart from Sunday's 11.30 - 8.pmMore
