We booked a table for 6 of us for my birthday mid December. It was our first visit to this restaurant but it certainly won't be our last. The food menu had an excellent choice of starters and mains, something to suit everyone's taste. The starters and mains were fantastic, perfectly cooked and presented. Everyone really enjoyed their food which... More

We popped in on the off chance without booking a table, me the wife and my 3 kids they promptly found us a table and we ended up having on of the best carverys of ever had. They even had lamb on menu. You don't often see that option due to the price of lamb.... Fantastic good great service we... More

Booked a birthday meal for New Years Day, the food was nice but the customer service and whole experience very poor which was such a shame and very disappointing. Despite booking 2 months in advance I can't help but feel we were allocated the worst table. It was in a direct draught of the door so whenever it was opened... More

My wife and I went for a meal on NYE and had a very pleasant meal and dining experience. Shared a nice starter of breaded mushrooms, then each had lamb and scallops for main. Nice bottle of wine to go with it and had complimentary bread to start. Service was very good and table was in a nice spot. Food... More

This place is a slice of comfort from times gone by. Yes it is a little tired and dated but when you get in and get settled with the open fire and friendly team it is a great relaxing evening. The menu is made up of all the classics you remember.

quaint and tastefully furnished restaurant. The menu was varied. The food was well cooked, tasty and presented nicely. The only down side was that the Staff were very pushy and tried to rush you.

Just spent a perfect evening celebrating my birthday with my fiance . Have been coming here for 40 years and always enjoy the meal and surroundings . Had my usual beef stroganoff and my fiance had the mixed grill . Cannot fault either dish , came back next day for the carvery and as usual it was 5☆ . Only... More

We walked in with no booking and the lovely, friendly staff took us straight to a table even though they were already busy. The menu was great. We shared a nachos starter - best we have ever had. I had the "Posh Beef & Reef" from specials menu. Wow. Just wow! Wife had the salmon & was also extremely happy... More

Had dinner here one night, very good menu choice. Portion sizes were very good served with half chip and half new potatoes and veg which was very nicely cooked. Lots of choice especially if you like fish and a few items on specials board. Quite expensive but well worth the money. Would recommend booking if coming during busy period
