Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have just had a fantastic dinner at this restaurant. Both the food and the service was exceptional. There was a generous portion of monkfish cooked to perfection as the main. We had the potato skins to start with and delicious deserts. Would definitely return!!

The Sardine factory is situated on the West Quay of Looe. It has a casual atmosphere serving both seafood and burgers. The kitchen opens out on to the restaurant so that the diners can see the chefs preparing and plating the food on the pass....My wife and I shared starters of fried truffle potato skins along with a smoked haddock scotch egg. My main was a crab linguine which was simply superb. We finished with an espresso and a Tia Maria. The staff were delightful and very attentive We had a lovely evening and well worth a visit when visiting Looe.More

Awesome Fish Pie, Mussels so fresh they tried to escape the shells! We came here for lunch on a miserable Saturday. It seemed like Cornwall had closed for the weekend as detours from the rad to Looe seemed to send us via St Ives. However,...the ambience the friendliness of the staff, and most importantly, the food was fabulous. From the warm bread, local butter and home-made taramasalata to the delicious chocolate brownie, this was fabulous. Highly recommended... when the roads are switched on again in Cornwall :-)More

The food is amazing, the service attentive, watching Head Chef Charlie Walters and his brigade work is entertainment of the highest quality. Such a professional team. Seriously the best restaurant I have eaten in for a long time easily beating some Michelin star establishments I...have recently visited. As a rule I am only moved to write a review when somewhere is exceptionally good or bad. This is an exceptionally good restaurant well worth anyone’s visit when in Cornwall.More

We have wanted to go to The Sardine Factory for some time but seeing Charlie on MasterChef made us determined to make the trip to Looe on our recent visit to Cornwall. So glad we did and it will not be the last time we...visit. It totally lived up to our high expectations and I had the best fish pie EVER! Great selection of nibbles and all the dishes that came over the pass looked great. We also had 'crab linguine' which was superb and they even did a half portion for us. The staff are lovely and very efficient and the restaurant is simple but well presented, clean and a great ambiance. There are places you just know you will visit again & again and, although it is a bit of a jaunt for us to get there, we know this is one of them. Get to Looe and try it, a must for foodie fish lovers. Come on Michelin this place should have a StarMore

Stopped for lunch on the way further down in Cornwall. Fresh, imaginative, great wine list. Chowder was great. Absolutely fantastic! Tip - try to bag or book a table by a window.

The crab linguine is the single best meal I have ever eaten. I wouldn’t class myself as foodie but I think about that meal weekly. Honestly. If you are in Looe, go and have it, immediately.

A great experience from beginning to end. Lovely surroundings and atmosphere, very friendly and efficient service and delicious food with a great range of choices. We enjoyed everything that we ate but would especially recommend the chowder. A lovely experience and if it wasn't for...the fact that it's fully booked for the remainder of our stay, we'd be back there again tomorrow! Highly recommended.More
