Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We we’re staying at local caravan park we there for a meal. I had chicken bacon pasta, it was a child’s portion size and was served warm not hot, my partner had scampi, said it came with chunky chips it came with warm fries and...warm peas. Are plates were cleared but we weren’t asked if we wanted anything else. We came out very hungry and went across to the spar shop and bought microwave meals.More

Great friendly traditional Cornish pub. Good selection of ales lagers and spirits. Standard pub fair on the menu that comes in generous portion sizes and is of a high standard. Always a warm welcome.

Visited for an evening meal. Very busy. Waited a little for a vacant table. The staff were all so friendly, in particular the lad with curly dark hair. Ordered food & drinks. The food was OK. Initially thought it was nice to have real chips,...but I think they'd been kept warm, which made them very dry and lots of them inedible, unfortunately. Would return again if in the area and try something else to eat. The pies looked fab. Interesting pub. Nice to read about its history.More

My husband and I visited on our last night in Cornwall as the pub holds a sea shanty evening each Thursday evening. We were not disappointed. Great local beer, great ambience and when the group came on about 8.30, it had everyone singing along. We...had a great evening!More

Lovely little pub full of character and charm. Serve a great pint of ale. It isn’t a big pub which isn’t a bad thing it is tucked away on the quieter side of town but worth visiting

This pub is nice, bartenders are friendly and very welcoming although has limited seating the floors are a little uneven therefore the bar stools can be fairly uncomfortable.

We booked Sunday lunch at The Jolly Sailor based on local recommendations and the fact that it was advertised as a dog friendly pub. What a pleasant experience - traditional British pub atmosphere, nice ales, good home cooked food (plenty of it and reasonably priced)...all rounded off by staff who treated us more like family than customers. Definitely worth a visit for a relaxing pint and excellent Sunday roast.More

We had a couple of wonderful evening meals here whilst on holiday, the pie and mash was wonderful, the gravy is exquisite. The cajun chicken was lovely especially with the spicy dip it came with, the owners are lovely and all the staff are very...kind and helpful dog friendly and didn't mind our little pooch visiting even though she can be a bit grumpy, wish this was our local will definitely be back next time we're down here.More

Went here for an evening meal, were hoping for a quiet one, but it was noisier than we hoped. Still, it was approaching the height of summer, and the food and drink were good.
