We did a bit of research having tried the Chinese in Looe and then we read reviews on here, we liked the fact they responded to reviews. BUT our food was delivered 0.5 miles away, charge was £2 (fine) and the food was ok apart from the house special box with salt and pepper. Meat items were dry and EVERYTHING was covered in flaked and chopped red chilli and was not edible for those who can’t manage REALLY hot food (I’m usually fine). Rang the restaurant only to be told we should’ve told them about how spicy we like our food. Why would you do that if the only description is with salt and pepper?. The lady laughed when I said this. Pretty disappointed in their response so if you do order, advise of any inability to eat hot food even if you are essentially ordering something with no mention of heat. The delivery driver was lovely.

Having been put off by some of the reviews we’d read about Ocean Dragon it was with some trepidation that we ordered our family meal. All the dishes were very good, well presented in their takeaway packaging, order ready on time as promised. Friendly welcome. A really very good family meal.

We always use Ocean Dragon when on holiday and its always been delicious. This time placed 2 orders through the week. The first arrived quickly and was as delicious as ever the second took over an hour and a half to arrive and was nearly cold. Also think the £6 delivery charge is a bit expensive

Thank you for your positive feedback. All of our staffs provide high standards of customer service to our guests. The driver did great job of helping you out. We always tell the customers when the busy night how long delivery time will be waited. The £6 delivery charge is for driver, because it’s about 6 miles or over,the driver need to pay the petrol and the petrol price is going up day by day. Hope see you soon. Thank you. Ocean Dragon

Called through around 4:45pm man answered and took my order (they don’t open until 5pm) I was impatiently hungry! Pleasant chap on the phone, took my order and accommodated slight changes I request, read the order back to me which was good. Cash only however, the convenient store next door does cash back (minimum charge £3) good location just outside central Looe so you avoid parking charges and going into town. Has it’s out car park just outside the shop. I would eat from here again and I would also recommend. Fair pricing and large portions.They also deliver but if you collect you get free prawn crackers Thanks Ocean Dragon 🐉

Over cooked

Call this tonight after ordering over the phone special fried rice pancake rolls chicken balls with sauce. The rice dish had thin layer of rice the rest of the tube was a brown coloured sauce with overcooked vegetables 2 prawns floating in it. Pancake rolls full of pepper and bean shoots soggy worst every Chinese take away . Could take it back drove over ten miles to collect . Will not go again.

Worst chinese i have ever had

Ordered salt and pepper chicken sweet and sour pork hong kong style egg fried rice and chios. The chicken was over cooked rock hard nearly broke my teeth. The pork was not even ediable was disgusting. When i rang up the guy who answered was brilliant he offered me a full refund straight away but went to ok it with his boss he came back told me its always cooked like that but i could have some prawn crackers for my trouble lol avoid this chinese people the food is bad will never go there again

We are on holiday in polperro and decided to have a Chinese takeaway delivered. Next day I rang and spoke to the woman that worked there as the charge was very expensive. She stated it is £6 delivery charge as on Google maps it is over 6 miles. I checked with Google maps and is 5.3 miles. There is no price charge on the leaflet and never told us on the phone they would charge £6 And it's cash only! No prawn crackers free so a takeaway was expensive for just under £30 So beware...check on Google maps as they will lie that it's over 6 miles

Hi I am the manager, I spoke to you on the phone. We are offering free prawn crackers for collection orders over £20. The delivery charge is £6 for the Polperro area because the distance is 6 miles away or more. This delivery charge is for the driver, he needs to pay the petrol. We always tell our customers the total price of there food including the delivery charge too. If you think it’s expensive for the delivery charge, you should tell the staff, you can come to collect or cancel the order, that’s not a problem. As I explained to you on the phone, you said you will not order again and leave us a bad review. Just to let everyone know what’s happening for this bad review and to be honest, we do not lie to any of our customers. We charge £6 for all of the delivery orders to Polperro area, we are not just charging you this amount. Thank you for your understanding. We hope you have a nice holiday in looe. Ocean Dragon

Ordered spare ribs egg fried rice and chicken balls. The balls did not taste like chicken, the rice was tasteless and the ribs tasted like they had been reheated numerous times. Very expensive rubbish to rip off tourists.

Collection Takeaway excellent food

Ordered the set banquet D for 4 people and when we rang to order they were very helpful as we wanted to change some of the meals. Best duck and pancakes we've had and all the meals very tasty and plenty of it, well stuffed. Ignore the bad reviews couldn't fault any of it cheers.

We ordered a banquet for 4 and collected a takeaway from Ocean Dragon in Looe, the person who took the order was so friendly and helpful . He let us swap menus at no extra cost. The food was amazing, excellent portions , tasty with plenty of meat and the food was piping hot . I would definitely recommend you to order your Chinese from this take away, just wish there was one near to where we live.

Appalling customer service

A takeaway order was phoned through at 1740 and we were promised delivery at 1900-1915. By 1945 nothing had been delivered so a phone call was made and we were informed that the driver was on his way and would be with us imminently. At 2015 another call was made as nothing had been delivered and we were informed that the cooking hadn't even been started and it might be another hour before it was delivered. Either they took an order that they had no intention of fulfilling in the promised time or they prioritised every other order that came in and kept pushing us backwards and then lied to us that the meal was on its way. Needless to say the order was cancelled and I cannot recommend their level of service to anyone.

Amazing customer service and large delicious portions of food!

Couldn’t recommend Ocean Dragon enough! I was staying at a holiday park with my family and ordered for delivery. We phoned up and placed our order which we were greeted by a very polite gentleman on the phone. We was told our order would arrive within an hour and half, ( it’s was a bank holiday ) food arrived pipping hot and the portions were massive! We could have probably fed the family in the caravan next door too! Delivery driver very well mannered and you could tell he really cares about the customers. We order 3 times in 1 week and every time it was spot on!

Wow wow wow We were a family of 7 staying at a campsite in Polperro and just by chance someone had left a menu in the caravan we were staying in. We placed an order and was told it would be delivered within an hour. We were not disappointed the food was absolutely fantastic. Very reasonably priced, it came still piping hot. So good we ordered again on our last night. This was much nicer than the Chinese I have had back at home. Definitely well worth having, can’t recommend Ocean Dragon enough Fabulous 👍😃😃

Hi, we took your order at 19:48,because our system have problem make a mistake give the wrong mobile number and address.We tried to call that number, the customer said that they didn’t order,so we cancel that order.We found the mistake until you call us on 20:50,we confirmed order with you and do apologize to you, we explained what’s happen and we said can do your order as quick as possible, take 10% off for your order free prawn crackers and promised within a hour your order will be delivered. We tried to our best way to make you happy.But you said you want your food before 9:30,if not you do not want it.We are so sorry can not do it within half hour for cooking and delivery in the busy Sunday night.Finally you canceled the order. The system engineer fixed our system today.We do apologize to you again.We want all of customers have a good experience with us.We are trying to improve our customers service into next level.Hope you enjoy your holiday.

A Fab takeaway

Just had a takeaway delivered from here and all I can say is what a great service we had. Delivery was quicker than the time they gave which was good, the delivery driver was polite and friendly and the food was so delicious and hot. Well done for making us all very full up and happy.
