About
We are an old traditional public house , family run for 32 years offering traditional pub food such as our lamb hot pot, fish pie, steak and ale, and chicken and mushroom pies Currently we are opening from 11 until 2:30 for lunch and 5 until 9:00 most evenings. Whilst we welcome children, we are unable to accommodate perambulators or buggies due to Covid 19 spacing. Wheel chair and mobility scooter users are asked to call in advance so that we can make the necessary arrangements to allow for fluid access either through the main door or our accessible rear gate. We are also dog friendly so long as they are on leads and on the floor as not all of our patrons wish to share seats with our pets!

What a fabulous pub. We called in for a glass of wine as we had eaten a late lunch in Fowey. We decided we would like snack so ordered two starters. The lady recommended the squid which was out of this world. I had prawn...cocktail which was fabulous. We have just taken a seasonal caravan touring pitch at Trelay caravan park so I expect this will now be our local go to pub when we are there!More

The Salutation Inn has always been a favourite of mine when we visit Looe. This year we went for the New Year. As usual, the festive decorations make this pub the No.1 place to visit when in Looe at this time of year. It was...AMAZING !!! The staff and owner are very friendly and it is quite comforting seeing a few usual faces sitting at the bar having a drink in the evening. The fire is just the cosiest thing ever and was lovely to come and sit beside it when it was wet and cold most evenings. We ate in there a couple of times (would have eaten in there more but they were booked up) and the food is lovely. A varied menu to suit everyone, doesn't take too long and is hot and tasty. It was lovely to stay in the pub after the food and have a few drinks there. Without doubt the best traditional pub in Looe. We always return year after year to this pub. Thanks again to all the staff and workers who make the christmas decorations so amazing. Inside and out of the pub it looks great !!!!More

This is a really welcoming pub. The log fire was just gorgeous to sit by on a cold, wet January day. The Christmas decorations were so beautiful and clearly took a huge amount of effort to put up but what a great job!! Loved them....The staff are very friendly and run the pub excellently well. The food was tasty, wholesome, plentiful and of a very good quality. The four of us all really enjoyed our meals from scampi, hotpot, ham salad and ham, egg & chips. We can’t wait to call in again for some great drinks and delicious food.More

We have been taking our dog in here for over two years and never had a problem. Called today and was told we couldn't sit on our table of choice because our dog caused a fire risk! In my experience as a fire safety specialist...this was completely false. I am sure we will be welcome next week when Looe is not so busyMore

A party of 7 of us visited on a very busy Saturday night between Christmas and New Year having booked by phone earlier in the week. We arrived a little early to find a table waiting for us in the back room, which was still...decorated in the classic Salutation manner. Despite how busy the restaurant was the waiting staff couldn’t have been more attentive. Drinks orders were taken regularly and always delivered correctly. The food was absolutely delicious and arrived piping hot. It was worth the short wait. The fish pie is a must. Packed with fish and flavour. You really don’t need anything extra. Our group polished every last bit off, not something that happens often. The staff were exceptional and catered to our every need attentively and quickly. We have noticed some negative comments on here when it comes to guests with young children. The couple sat near us had a baby of a few months and a dog and were welcomed with kindness and understanding. It’s a new favourite for us all and we can’t wait to come back. Thanks for a fab evening.More

Fantastic night at ‘The Sal’ - brilliant pub, plenty of atmosphere and great staff. Eight of us enjoyed a lovely dinner - great traditional pub grub, cooked and served well. Even though they were verybusy, the staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us....One of our party has a Nightshade allergy and the staff bent over backwards to accommodate. The fabulous Christmas decorations are just the icing on the cake.More

We visited this pub several times over a few days as a lot of restaurants are shut in Looe in Nov and I must say the women behind the bar is not very friendly. Even after giving her a smile she struggles to break into...a slight smirk. If you work in that industry you should do better. Food ok , average pub food but it does have a warm cosy feel inside (apart from the woman behind the bar)More

Really great pub. So warm and cosy. Dog friendly. Great beers and ciders. Made to feel really welcome on a chilly very wet evening. I had Chicken Thai Green curry and my wife had Jalfrezi. Both beautiful. Followed by 2 or 5 Cornish Orchards Cider...and Sharps Cold River Cider. Highly recommended. It won’t be long before we will return.More
