Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you like a generic “trendy” bar, then this is not the place for you. On the other hand, if you like a good old fashioned pub where the staff have as much character as the bar itself - then you will love The Fishermans...Arms. A cosy pub with a great atmosphere, welcoming staff, dog friendly, and a wide array of drinks. Will definitely be back.More

I’m such a snob I know, but I was initially really disappointed by Looe - a pretty coastal Cornish village swamped by too many over-sized tattooed tourists - but the village wholly redeemed by my sheer good luck of dropping into the Fisherman’s Arms; over...a quiet pint in the beer garden I was regaled by stories of various musical acts known or witnessed by the afternoon’s singing entertainer (a Cornish local chap in his late 40s) as he warmed his vocal chords with a beer… I decamped to the bar - right next to our singer and spent some of the best 2 hours listening to the greatest hits (Elton John, Prince etc) of the 70s and 80s whilst locals danced and pranced and had a grand old time; attentive service kept me topped up with tribute, so when my day was done, I sailed up the hill to my accommodation with EJs ‘I guess that’s why they call it the blues’ repeating in my head for the next 48 hours; a fabulous afternoon in the end after a shaky start - I doff my cap to The Fisherman’sMore

If you travel to this pub, you never know if it is open or not. If it is it is a good atmospheric pub, but you may find it closed at random or be asked to leave at 6pm depending on how they feel on...the day. Obviously makes it difficult for anyone to plan to come here.More

Was having a great night with a guy there singing 80s songs until the alarm went off. Felt like they set it off to get rid of people for the night as it went on for around 15 minutes so we just ended up leaving...in the end 😂 landlady was awesome though but the other guy could cheer up a bit.More

Whilst staying at Tregoad Holiday Park we ventured into Looe for some sight seeing and refreshment. Having toured Looe town, beach and pier we had worked up a thirst. So by chance we found The Fisherman's Arms. This pub had a great atmosphere where a...log fire kept the bar nice and cosy. We had several drinks during our visit and can say we left happy and content. The Fishermans Arms visit will remain as a great memory with us for many years.More

Cracking little local pub with local people who make you welcome. Great service and chat with Barrie who engages with customers locals or newbies. I will be back to Looe and definitely to the Fishermans. Well done all.
