We just popped in for a drink after work and found a great spot on the sofas, with a view of the sea to enjoy a gin and tonic. The seating area by the windows are great to sit and relax and not feel in the way of people having food. Loved that it was dog friendly too!

My husband & I stayed for 4 nights to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, it was perfect. Room was excellent with a beautiful view, one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in & with the added bonus of no TV just radio. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, always helpful, attentive & just generally nice! Had... More

We have eaten here a few times per year for the last 30 years. Today the food was delicious, particularly the bread. The portions were very small though - the artichoke tart was scrumptious but was really only starter sized and cost £14. This was exacerbated because we ordered fries but none arrived; only when we asked about them were... More

We stayed for a night and wished that we had stayed longer! The hotel staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The view from our room and terrace was glorious; sea, St Clement's isle and St Michael's mount. We had a good night's sleep in a very comfortable bed. The shower was also fantastic, lovely and warm. The breakfast was great... More

We actually visited the Old Coastguard expecting to have standard "pub grub" but was delighted to find a menu with fine cuisine. Obviously a little more expensive than we had planned but it was nonetheless a lovely meal and good value overall for the quality served. We had locally caught Plaice and the Fish Stew. Both very fresh and very... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to pen your thoughts: the team really appreciate it. You've astutely picked out some of the things we think are important in a small hotel like this, and hope it's something we can carry off day in day out. We hope you find your way back to us some time. More

We visited twice during our holiday for dinner, both times we were looked after very well - staff were professional but also nice and informal, good views down through the hotel garden towards the sea and gate at the end of the garden, so you can take a stroll along the coast after dinner! Food was excellent, good selection, we... More

The food was lovely and well presented. The menu was a bit limited and it is a bit pricey but as a special holiday treat it ticked the boxes. The views from the restaurant are spectacular. Our table had a vase of fresh flowers and a lit candle - a very nice time was had! We were lucky to get... More

We were a party on 12 wanting to have brunch for a family occasion outside of their normal serving times. We called the Old Coastguard and they were so helpful sending us options to preorder and keeping a chef on after breakfast to cater to us. When we arrived they had a table set up for us and special menus... More

This was a lovely start to our holiday. Food was amazing but a little pricey. Staff very friendly and the views (if you got the right table) were wonderful.

I'm happy to read that you had a good time with us and that the team looked after you well. Pricing is a difficult one and I'm afraid is only going to get more difficult this year in all the restaurants you eat in as there is a lot of nasty inflation kicking into the industry that we do our...
