We had a booking (made earlier that day) and were seated promptly at the time of booking. Clear guidance and signs for COVID policies made it feel like they'd really thought about keeping customers safe.
I had a cola cocktail which was one of the best I've ever had - thoroughly enjoyed. The food was fantastic quality, really tasty, and well worth the price tag which was really rather reasonable (we had a rump steak salad and a BBQ pork stack).
Special shout out should be given to our waitress who was polite, engaging, and always smiling - thank you.

During our weeks trip, we visited several times in the evening and ordered a range of cocktails. The cocktails were priced around the £7 mark which was very reasonable, especially when compared to other venues that charged more for drinks of a poorer quality. The staff were always attentive and welcoming so we decided to book for lunch on our final day. We ordered the BBQ chicken stack and the brisket stacks which were served with lovely garlic and rosemary skin on fries. We would recommend a visit but keep in mind when ordering that this restaurant serves huge portions!

We stayed in Newquay for a week and our apartment was just across from Rebellion. It took a couple of attempts to get a booking and after visiting we could understand why.
The bar and restaurant itself. Is really chilled out with a great atmosphere. We were seated promptly & our order was taken. The staff were really chirpy & made suggestions from the menu.
We both chose the thick sliced beef brisket with skinny fries. I'm. So glad that we did, it tastes amazing!! The meat just melted in your mouth and I'm just gutted I was so eager to eat it that I didn't get a photo of it. We both had pudding too which is unusual, the brownie was one of the best I've ever had.
We both had a shot or two of moonshine, I had the salted caramel one and even that tasted great.
Would have loved to have been able to return but couldn't get a table before we left. If we return to Newquay we will visit Rebellion again.

We came here today for a family meal as it’s my birthday, we rang up an hour before asking if we could change it to 6 people instead of 4, they said because they were busy they couldn’t do so. When we arrived there were 2 table in there and it remained that until we left. Brisket was nice, but the chicken wings were dry and tasteless, calamari very chewy and greasy. We couldn’t order the kiwi drinks on the menu due to the manager being allergic. (Take it off the menu then or let us know on arrival) we told the waitress about the food but there was no sorry or option to take it off the bill. We also booked and said we had a cake but when arrived they said we couldn’t have it because of the candles and wouldn’t keep it in the fridge for us.. very disappointed won’t be returning to this Rebellion.

Thanks for taking the time to write us a review.
At the time that you phoned, we couldn't change your booking from a 6 to a 4 as those tables were already booked up. We had 29 no shows yesterday including some that you were booked in and around the time of your booking. Unfortunately we cant foresee this.
You left one chicken wing out of 4/5 (depends on size) due to one having a vein. Not bad considering they were dry & tasteless.
There was no mention of the calamari being chewy & greasy.
With the kiwi option taken off the cocktail menu, you were fine & just ordered other drinks.
Apart from the one chicken wing, there was no mention about the food.
Normally we are more than happy to take birthday cakes (or any other cakes) but due to the Covid situation, we are not taking birthday cakes (or any other cake). Im pretty sure that you will understand this.

A trendy eatery, with many just drinking, this place trades on its hip vibe. Our male server was barely civil as he took our drink and food order; he certainly didn’t want to be working that day. The menu is limited but in keeping with most meat smokehouses. I opted beef brisket.
It arrived on a tin tray ... a couple slices of tender beef, a quarter of which was fat. A few chips under the meat and an empty gravy jug. There was more plate visible than food. A friendly waitress went and got me some gravy and bought our drinks.
The food was tasty enough but not worth the £16 price tag, the chef obviously wasn’t watching the quality of food leaving his/her kitchen that day. We got the same cold treatment when asking and paying for the bill. Very disappointing.

I'd heard great things about Rebellion so was looking forward to the food. Unfortunately it fell totally flat on that expectation.
I ordered the chunky bbq pork stack as it sounded amazing. Drinks were served promptly as were the starter my partner ordered, BUT then nothing no staff to tell us there was any delay for 45 minutes and we were offered a free drink. All in all it took nearly an hour to serve 2 main meals and the restaurant wasn't overly busy.
At this point i was ravenous so dug in as it looked amazing only to find most of the fries were hard and the bbq pork stack was slimy and tasteless.
Never been so disappointed, didn't bother to complain as other than one member of staff who was running round no one else seemed to be bothered.
Won't be returning and won't be recommending very disappointed.

Been here many times for the legendary Sunday roasts. Nothing compared and I’d go as far to say it’s normally the best roast I’ve had anywhere in the country so imagine my upset returning after a period of the premises refurbishment to find the famous share plate has been ditched for arguably smaller portioned individual plates, the roasted root veg replaced with sub par mashed root veg and the delicious (and quite unique) broccoli cheese replaced with average cauliflower cheese (I don’t like cauliflower either). I can’t complain about the general quality of what was served or the usual friendly staff but I’d normally leave feeling stuffed and content and this time I’ve left feeling I could both eat more and also get much the same roast anywhere else in the local area.

Came in for a drink and a snack which turned into a 3 course meal!!! The food was amazing. I’m coeliac and the waitress and chefs knowledge was amazing and I could eat pretty much everything on the menu (they had gf beer too!). We highly recommend this place for a great meal out with a wonderful atmosphere x

We were able to get a table as somebody hadn't turned up that gad booked. Staff are friendly everybody aware of social distancing. Food was delicious I had a burger which tasted much better than quite a few I have tried elsewhere. My partner had beef brisket which was delicious. The chocolate brownie he really enjoyed I tried it but to rich for me. I had a panne cotta which was the only disappointment it was like eating a pot of cream very sickly I couldn't finish it.

Booked a table for me and my 12yr old daughter for 7.45pm. We were waiting at the the front for a good 5 minutes before even being acknowledged and was greeted by an unfriendly waitress whose first comment was “I don’t know if your tables ready”
We were lead through the restaurant to the table right at the back, in a corner near the toilets, asked if we wanted water for the table which was brought, placed on our table and without asking us what drinks we would like to order, she left us!!
20 mins later - still no drinks and not one person coming to ask if we were ok. Felt like we had been abandoned in the corner!! I then shouted over the the girl who had seated us, and I was ignored!! I then called over to another girl who did come over 5 mins later and took our drinks and food order. Drinks arrived 10 mins later!! It then reached 8.45 and Nobody returned to check if we were ok or to ask if we would like more drinks and so I asked another waitress how long our food would be. She said that she would check and then did not update us and did not return!! 9.00 came and I decided enough was enough!!
I spoke to Amanda and told her of the appalling service and treatment and that I was leaving and I just wanted to pay for our drinks and go!!
Amanda was very apologetic but the damage had been done aNd our night ruined. Amanda said she would not charge us for the drinks which was a nice gesture. If we had only been at least acknowledged, informed that there was possible waiting times, took drinks orders then we would have been ok !! Part of our meal order was small plate consisting of bread balsamic and olives, - why couldn’t they not have brought this out whilst waiting - surely that was manageable .
In my opinion better quality waitresses are needed with much better people and customer service skills!! Keeping customers informed and making them feel welcome is the bare essentials. To be ignored by staff and have to ask in a restaurant if we could order our first drinks is absolutely appalling

Hi, thank you for choosing Rebellion and we’re sorry that your experience didn’t match your expectations.
We’re a small business working hard to maintain the standards that we expect of ourselves.
Especially when we get very busy and things get a little hectic.
The majority of people can see the situation at hand and are sympathetic, supportive and patient but then some people I suppose could feel aggrieved and intolerant.
Its seems Amanda’s gestures and apologies were to no avail.

Everything at Rebellion is incredible, the food is delicious, the staff are friendly, the drinks & cocktails are creative. It’s very reasonably priced for the quality of food and beverages you get.
We took our dog, Bruno, in - the staff were delightful with him, they gave him a real fuss, and kept him well supplied with snacks and water.
A special thank you to one of the managers, Jamie, who made our meals more than excellent, ensuring we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
We’re already looking forward to going back come next year.

My partner always raves about the wonderful cocktails they produce at Rebellion. So when we decided to have a midweek evening out, I was pleased we headed to Rebellion. The staff were welcoming and friendly from the start. Our waitress was fun and knowledgable and obviously enjoys her job and working with the public. The food was excellent, I would definitely recommend the mussels and the wings, also thank you to the chef for the onion rings, loved them. The restaurant was well presented and had a great atmosphere with happy diners everywhere laughing and smiling. The cocktail list is fun and inventive and well priced. All in all I had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at Rebellion and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun night with quality food and drinks. Thanks for a great night.

Disappointed at first to get onion rings with them as they are only sold with there steaks and the kitchen doesn't allow you to buy them as a side - very strange. But what was more disturbing was that our server i watched go into the kitchen and eat food with her fingers and lick them (kitchen can be seen from the restaurant as its open) and then come back onto the restaurant floor without washing them and start handling customers food plates. Surely before Covid one would wash one's hands but with the chances of transferring saliva from one mouth onto food and in turn transmitting covid surely this is unthinkable. Wise up people especially restaurant staff.

Called in for drinks and Tuesday, the gentleman found us a table outside and was extremely helpful.
We had not planned to have food, but when we saw the food coming out it looked amazing.
The restaurant was busy so we thought we would not be able to get in for food.
But after asking we were told by the kitchen it would be fine.
I ordered the chicken steak burger and my wife had the pulled pork burger.
I have eaten chicken in Nashville and New Orleans from famous chicken shacks, but I have to say this chicken topped them.
It was so succulent it just melted.
My wife said her burger was just as good.
Social distancing was adhered to and all the staff were polite and extremely helpful.
We will return again when in Newquay.

My partner and I had been recommended Rebellion for a ‘good place to eat’ ... we will be recommending Rebellion as ‘a great place to eat’ ... Staff are friendly and informative, knowing about their recipes and able to explain the dishes well. Between us we had barbecue ribs, halloumi fries, Steak salad and seafood chowder... the servings were plentiful and in fact, in hindsight I wish I’d only ordered my main as I couldn’t finish it and it was one of the best meals I have ever had in my life. COVID rules were in place and we felt safe.
