A cosy hidden gem just off Newquay High Street. A relaxed vibe, the perfect place to chill and catch up with friends, family and loved ones. Coffee, cake or Cocktails with food served until 9pm daily. We are Dog friendly & have board games to keep you entertained during your time at Selkies Live Music every Thu 8pm-10pm Live music every other Sunday 4pm-6pm

We were looking for somewhere ‘lovely’ for lunch and came across Selkies.
Wow!!!!!!! Literally couldn’t ask for more.
Initially wooed by the gorgeously sublime decor (including the cute, friendly, Tibetan Terrier duo), we ordered the large mixed sharing platter, but were talked down to the small platter, despite me declaring myself ‘hungry’.
THE FOOD IS INCREDIBLE!
A visually mouthwatering feast that surpassed our every expectation.
Steve and Debbie are amazing hosts, and you cannot fault a business that talks you down from a pricier option, many wouldn’t.
We will definitely be back, and next time we plan to stay in their accommodation above.

Very welcoming and friendly bar (dog friendly too) very relaxed atmosphere and staff are welcoming and knowledgeable about the food and drink they are serving. The sharing platters are really good value for money and you certainly don’t leave hungry! Cocktails are great at a very reasonable price. Live music is provided several days a week and is popular with the locals.

Tastefully decorated in dark teals, and beautiful lighting with an ‘under the sea’ theme, this little bar/bistro is a hidden gem in Newquay. The food and drinks we had were all delicious, nicely presented and very good quality. The owners made us feel very welcome and the whole place had a cosy, intimate feel to it. Perfect place to relax and chat to friends. Loved the seagrass jellyfish pendant lights!

We have visited Selkies a couple of times and the service is always amazing! The New Year Package they offered was incredible, with a sharing platter being the perfect touch with a few cocktails. We will definitely be back. Thank you Steve and Debbie ☺️

Very nice cosy cocktail bar with a very friendly welcome and feel. Seven of us booked a table for a sat evening, five teenagers and two adults, the teenagers can be fussy eaters but everyone loved the mixed meat, cheese, bread and salad planks washed down with fabulous cocktails. We will be back again soon.

The breakfast we had was amazing and could not fault it. Our friends had avocado on toast and not only did it look divine they said it was out of this world. Ours was the traditional with eggs, bacon, beans, toast and the most divine poached eggs. Staff attentive and could not fault the place. Can't wait to go back.

Lovley evening as a 1st time visit and we can't wait to return.
We had a meat & cheese sharing platter for 2... the food was fabulous- such a mix of foods that all goes well together.
Very fresh flavours.
Fantastic atmosphere
Very friendly staff
Very reasonably priced
We look forward to trying the brunch next.

We have just returned from a long weekend here and it was brilliant
Debbie & Steve both very attentative, the accommodation, they even gave us a complimentary glass of prosecco each on our anniversary. Selkies was just what we needed, a spacious, clean and tidy room with en-suite to sleep at night. We also met Alban one of the barmen and he was just as great as the owners.
The food was delicious, seriously recommend the cheese board platter, halloumi and the garlic mushrooms.
We will definitely be returning in the very near future.

Tuesday after an Easter bank holiday is very quiet in Newquay. Lots of places were closed but we came across this little gem of a place. Do some interesting cocktails and a variety of tasty sharing platters. Even accommodated us arriving later than we should have. Owner was full of local info and recommendations.

Early evening meal with our two teenage daughters. Really welcoming, relaxed, dog friendly place. Food is a lightly different from your usually stuff, was fab and enough to satisfy our ‘picky eater’. Beer good, food great, service brill , atmosphere relaxed and friendly. Would definitely visit again. Thank you.

Great fun & friendly bar with regular live music. The food is fab - especially the vegan sharing platter. A wonderful option for a dog friendly venue and the friendly staff and locals make it an enjoyable evening. We will be back!

Once again our visit to Selkies didn’t disappoint. Not just the hospitality of the owners who take the time and interest in their guests which is outstanding but also the attendance and care of other members of staff make the evening in this place truly enjoyable. We had a cheese platter and some wine which was excellent. The life music band was fantastic and added to the charming atmosphere of the evening. Thank you Debbie and Steve- you definitely deserve recognition as you are doing an outstanding job.

Absolutely love this place, fresh, modern, relaxed and very friendly, helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble. The sharing plates are VFM and very fresh and tasty. Best Cocktails in town too.

This place is a secret gem. Off the Newquay track and tucked away but truly worth the visit. Great cocktails, sharing platters, music and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend a visit.

Lovely bar in Newquay, my local and favourite place to go. Very friendly owners and lovely friendly helpful staff that always have time to talk and make you feel welcome. It's dig friendly with doggie treats at the bar. Fantastic generous meat and cheese boards with a vegan option. Beautiful. A must place to visit, with music on Thursdays and sometimes on the weekends.
