Spending a weekend in Newquay, went for the Sunday Carvery. Very nice meal, lovely Beef & Turkey (Pork also available), plenty of vegetables to choose from, alongside roast potatoes. Second time in 2 years, I've had a carvery at the Griffin and no complaints on...either occasion.More

We had a fabulous meal at the Griffin Newquqy. The lady that served us was great. The food came out on hot plates and was of a superb quality. I can highly recommend the beef pie. So much chunky beef and the pastry was divine....The vegetables were so fresh and tasty and everything was hot. Well done everyone at the Griffin 😀More

The Griffin is the best Carvery ever. The meat is so fresh, it’s cooked so well. The pork the beef are just amazing. Great value too. Been once this year and three times last and it never disappoints.

Had a Sunday carvery here twice now, and must say its one of the best ones we've been to while in Newquay Cornwall. Three choices of meat to choose from and a veggie one as well. My wife and I went to the bar to...order our meal and then was taken to our table, we then made our way to the carvery counter, we both had the beef, 3 thick slices of beef each was cooked to perfection slightly pink but well cooked. We then helped ourselves to all the veg and roasted potatoes so tasty, proper roasted potatoes, and gravy mmmmmm lovely jubbly 😋😋😋 would definitely recommend the Griffin Hotel for meals and a lovely place. Would probably go every Sunday for dinner if we lived in Cornwall, at least we know where to go for a great meal and fantastic customer service. 👍👍👍👍😋😋😋😋😋👍👍👍👍More

The carvery had a choice of meats, stuffing and Yorkshire pudding, a selection of 6 lovely hot vegetables including a very nice cauliflower cheese, tasty roast potatoes and dauphinois with meat or vegetable gravy and sauces. We’ll definitely go back again.

We visited the Griffin Inn twice whilst on holiday in Newquay. Beautiful homemade food, lovely, friendly staff. We came here in Covid and it was nice, but no restrictions makes it even better. Worth a visit if you come to New Quay. 2 Sirloin Steaks...and a btl of any wine £39.95 great value. Will definitely come here again.More

Excellent Sunday carvery meal , everything cooked beautifully, beef that melted in your mouth , plenty of vegetable including parsnips , roasties , cabbage , peas and lots more , all nice and hot , I think they must make their own apple sauce as...large chunks of apple delicious, be aware that booking is advised as it’s very popular and excellent value , they also do a steak night where you get 2 sirloin steaks and a bottle of wine for under £40 , They have seating outside for you to have a drink or a bite to eat , just watch out for the seagulls. Can’t wait to come back in the week for a mealMore

We have been to the restaurant a number of times, We had booked a table for two couples , we are local, sister and brother in law visiting us. We asked for the bar area as the restaurant does get busy. After buying drinks we...were given menus and squeezed in along side a group of 10 guests waiting for their table, where the waitress flirted with them for 10 minutes in front of us ignoring us completely . We waited for some time for someone to take our order , when we asked we were told . No it’s bar service only if you are not in the restaurant, no apology, simply NO. We have been in the bar before where we did have table service. Had we been told this when we booked we would not have booked the bar. It was the overall attitude which upset us, we left immediately and found a fantastic restaurant nearby. Shame on the Griffin, we will not be returning to your pub estaurant .More

Hi, Sorry for the late reply. Yes, the Griffin does have a lift to their hotel rooms. On the off chance that the lift is out of order the stairs are not steep and it's only one flight.
