My boyfriend and I found this little gem just above the Newquay Harbour. Stopped in for a couple of drinks and loved the scenery so then decided to book dinner for the evening. Cannot fault the service, both bar and restaurant were very attentive and helpful. The food... To start I ordered the Cornish blue cheese soufflé and my boyfriend... More

Visited for our friends birthday after a recommendation. Great decision! Friday night is burger night, 10+ to choose from and under £10 including fries, coleslaw, onion ring and a glass of wine or pint! Great service from all staff, especially the waiter on his first night! Cracking job as he made us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble.... More

Go here most week for roasts, always amazing and would genuinely say it's the best roast I've had (bar my mothers!). Veg is always cooked perfectly and not soggy and gross, all super fresh and just delish! Staff friendly and owner makes effort to socialise with customers. Always good atmosphere for everyone (families included). Super reasonable prices aswell. Don't let... More

We haven't been here in years but thought we would give it a try for a family lunch. By far the best roast dinner I've tried in Newquay! A great selection of options for your roast, I had one of the vegetarian options which was served with a massive Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes, parsnips, broccoli, carrots, green beans... Six of us had a late lunch here on New year's Eve. It was strangely quiet in the restaurant, maybe because of the time of day - obviously not because of the food, which all of our group thought was fantastic, compliments to the chef! Two of us had steak ("better than Hawksmoor's") two had seafood linguini (both of us... More

We booked for our Christmas lunch and was looking forward to it as we have previously had a nice meal. When we arrived we were instantly disappointed as the table wasn't layed in a nice way,  cheap crackers, odd cutlery, paper napkin. The table was too small for 5 adults so I asked to be moved which they did. They... More

We are sorry to hear you had such a disappointing experience after looking forward to it so much. At the Dolphin we do have a casual non-tablecloth style and we are glad we managed to reseat your group at a different table. We concentrate on sourcing the best quality food products and preparing them freshly in our kitchen and this... More

We purchase food locally and cook fresh in our kitchens each day. We have a popular Sunday Roast each Sunday, as it is freshly cooked roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots, Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese, green vegetables and melt in the mouth meat, plus vegetarian and vegan options, it's usually very busy. We also offer a takeaway Sunday roast, call and collect. Friday night is Burger Night where we serve the Dolphin Gourmet Burgers, that too has become extremely popular, the menus are on our website and we offer online booking. The restaurant itself is a 75 seater restaurant with a nice friendly bar and lots of sofas dotted around the bar. It's been under new ownership since November 2016 and has been receiving rave reviews and sometimes sold out on Sundays with over 160 meals served. The Dolphin is the oldest trading restaurant in the beautiful Cornish town of Newquay and is a traditional yet vibrant venue, with friendly staff and a strong focus on sustainable and ethical practice. All produce is fresh and is locally and responsibly sourced, allowing for an exciting and dynamic food menu that appeals to people of all tastes. The lounge bar provides a relaxing area to enjoy well maintained draught lagers, ales and ciders, a carefully chosen range of wines and spirits. Serving from our Main Menu items such as Tapas, Seafood and Grill as well as our hugely popular Sunday Roasts, where we offer a takeaway roast on Sunday (from 26 November 2016) to meet the overbooked demand. The Dolphin is situated near to the Harbour in the centre of the town, just a minute from the beach and is surrounded by absolutely gorgeous beaches famous for their golden sands and world-class surf conditions on the North Cornwall coast. Adjacent to the restaurant is a pay and display car park whilst street parking is also available within a few minutes walk. Sainsburys also operate a time limited (1.5 hours at the time of writing) car parking facility, it is an automated time register driving in and driving out so allow a few extra minutes to get back to your car and exit their car park.
