An absolute gem of a local cafe, serving breakfast, lunch, cakes and lighter meals. We came across The Honeypot by chance a couple of weeks ago, when we had a rather rushed coffee and piece of cake. We were so impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the food we had and the atmosphere, that we returned yesterday for breakfast. To say it was well worth it, is an understatement. We arrived at 10.30am on a wet and windy December morning. The warm glow of The Honeypot is welcoming and as soon as we walked in, the calm but vibrant atmosphere was instant. We were immediately seated, having explained that we would be joined in around an hour, by our son and a friend. There was no issue with this, at all and we were given a 4-seat table. The breakfast menu ranges from a huge traditional breakfast, vegetarian and vegan versions and then some more interesting and off piste dishes that you wouldn’t at first equate with breakfast. We both had the ‘Honey pot poached eggs (from the menu description) Two poached free-range eggs on St Ives Bakery sourdough toast with smoky roasted squash & black beans, minty feta, charred corn, chilli & lime salsa, pink pickled onions & rocket. I also had a portion of very crispy smoked bacon added. This is one of the most delicious things I’ve ever had for breakfast. Every plate of food coming out of the kitchen looks amazing. Portions are generous. There is a large selection of fantastic home made cakes and pastries. We have no hesitation in recommending this first class local cafe

A lovely little tearoom, excellent for vegans too. Our vegan son wanted a Cornish cream tea and they went all-out for us, including finding a quieter location, turning the music down slightly and making sure a table was free after we called in an booked a little earlier in the day. The staff are so friendly and the food is excellent. My wife and i had seafood dishes both of which were gorgeous.

The food here is we think absolutely fabulous. Loved the soup and curry. Prices quite reasonable in our view, paid £37 for one curry and nan, one soup and bread, one cheesecske and two alcoholic drinks. Very upbeat inside, we sat at the sharing table in the front but given the choice of sharing with us everyone offered this golden opportunity scurried to the back. My partner did not leave a tip he has a thing about percentages when alcoholic drinks are included. He was waving a £5 note around afterwards though but it never made it to you. Next time we come maybe you can have a jar and I can leave a note pinned to it saying this is not a tip on you serving us drinks. Bad joke but I will make sure you get a tip next time we come. Its a lovely cafe with friendly service

Ridiculously expensive!! Paid £8.95 for a very small bowl of soup & small garlic bread. The waitress gave me options with the soup, but failed to explain that a tiny piece of garlic bread was £2 extra, bread & butter was included meaning the garlic was £2!! Wouldn’t expect to pay nearly £10 in the best Michelin *

We took refuge in here on a very rainy Saturday for brunch. They had already had a very busy service and had run out of a few key ingredients but happily substituted. Full breakfast was good and tasty, flatwhite was strong and poured well. It's a very chilled out place with a nice vibe, in an area of Penzance that's great...lots of good local shops.

We actually tried this a couple of times on the recommendation of our Airbnb host. We shared/ had the Coronation chickpea, mango chutney coriander and lettuce in ciabatta and the Superfood salad with homemade hummus. We got both with the £10 meal deal which included a big cake bar and a small coffee, therefore £20 in total. The sandwich was that good that I thought it would be good to take back with us on our (as it turned out) 10-hour trip back to Huddersfield and indeed that sandwich and the carrot cake (rose cake for my son) were great and was a total bonus on our cross-country train.

We researched restaurants for breakfast through Trip Advisor and found The Honey Pot. Their website said that they serve breakfast until 11:45am. On Monday 7th August we drove there, it took about 15 minutes to find a parking space and a few more minutes to walk to the restaurant in Penzance. We got there at 11:30am. When we were greeted by a nice young woman and requested a table for breakfast we were advised that they were only serving cake and drinks until 12pm when lunch would start. We expained that their website said they serve breakfast until 11:45am. She said she would ask her supervisor who was behind the counter. The supervisor said they cound not serve us, it was now 11:31am. She said they were a very popular restaurant and they changed the hours to accomodate. I suggested that they should have changed their website which in writing said that they served breakfast until 11:45am. She simply smiled and was very patronising. We will never go there again and would never recommend it.

We went here today for breakfast. It was 950am. The door was open and a couple of people sitting inside. A rather officious rude woman snapped at us that they were not open till 10am. We walked around for ten minutes and came back at 10.02am when the place was full. We asked for a table for two and the same snappy woman said we had to share a table, that food would be 30 minutes and that they needed the table back at 11am.!! Have been here many time before food and staff were always amazing. Shocked at this terrible customer service. We went to the Fromt Room in Penzance who couldn’t have been nicer and amazing food. Suggest others do the same.

We called in for tea and cake at 2.30pm. The food was fine but you wouldn't exactly call the service 'warm or welcoming.' I think unless you are buying lunch your custom is just tolerated which I could possibly understand at 12.30pm. but not at 2.30pm.The cake was nice enough but nothing special. A huge pot of tea (great!) but a tiny jug of milk and my request for a refil was provided with great reluctance. The cafe seems to have a local fan-base - think you might need to be part of this group to get good service.

Ordered 2 Frappes and cakes. was told there was no cream, do we want vegan - we said no - she wasnt happy! she said she would have to get some. On her return said she couldn't get any cream do we want it at a reduced price - we didn't as wanted the whole Frappe as ordered. She was not happy at all, we ordered different drinks to go with our cakes. We waited a long time for the food to arrive, meanwhile waitress was stropping around. My iced coffee did arrive but the tea never did. The scones for the cream tea were delicious but hot and crumbly. Rubbish service and not a good cream tea. Overall bad experience, would not go again.

The food was great and you could tell it was fresh! But unfortunately it was let down by the cleanliness and overall atmosphere of the cafe 😬 The staff seemed very stressed! When we arrived the table we booked wasn’t on the list. So the poor girl had to try find us somewhere (she did but it was another booked table so we felt rushed) our table was also super awkward to get into so I’m not sure how anyone with crutches or a wheelchair would be able to visit comfortably! When we sat down a lady rushed over and told us we had to order out breakfast immediately as the kitchen was going to change its stock? It was only 10:45am and they stop breakfast at 11:45am? Was only strange because people came in way later than us and we’re ordering breakfast? So that was confusing!😅 The part that REALLY put us off was the toilet situation…you have to walk through the kitchen to use the bathroom. I’m not sure how hygienic that is! Also it allows you to see that no staff were wearing hair nets 👀 Such a shame as the staff are lovely and the food is yummy but all the rest let’s it down 😞

Love this little cafe, everyone is so friendly and the cheese scones are the best I have ever had, served warm with extra cheese and chutney, coffee was gorgeous too and I'm hard to please with that! If you're in Penzance and need brunch, lunch or afternoon tea I would definitely recommend. They have gone to a lot of trouble to give customers a toilet too, which is commendable, thank you! Keep up the fantastic work. We'll be back!

The Honey Pot was recommended to us by a member of staff in another nearby eatery as it is dog friendly. We had lunch on two separate occasions during a recent holiday in the area. As a family of six we had a wide selection of dishes, ranging from creamed scones, salads, various filled ciabatta rolls, coffees/teas and cakes. Everything we had was lovely, tasty and enjoyable. Staff were excellent. Busy little place and queues can form outside, albeit if you are patient table turnaround is pretty reasonable.

Glad we spotted the sign for The Honey Pot. This very busy cafe in the middle of Penzance is a gem. The Cornish cheddar cheese toastie with beetroot and walnuts was delicious. The tomato soup with sour dough was very nice too.

Christmas Dinner 2022 Written by Vegan Vocalist on behalf of White Cow Communities The Honey Pot Lives up to its name. Sweet food, staff and service. We predict this will become a mecca for real foodies and those that appreciate attention to detail and passion for the beautiful, heartfelt, all around dining experience. The proprietor Rachel outdid herself this year with the following Vegan christmas options: Starter - Winter Mezze Spiced carrot and cumin Hummus, harrisa oil, toasted seeds, St Ives Bakery bread and herby olives. Main - Chestnut and Mushroom Wellington Roasted chestnut & mushroom wellington, cellariac & potato mash, thyme and maple glazed carrot, braised winter greens, Cranberry and port sauce, mushroom gravy. Dessert - Chocolate Clementine Pudding Chocolate and clementine pudding, clementine sorbet with chocolate sauce All this achieved within only six years. The Honeypot is often a fully booked cozy eatery we are certain will become a place to boast that customers have dined in. We wish Rachel and every single member of her wonderful team continued success and joy in their obvious pride and love of the Penzance Honeypot Hotspot.
