The decor is unique, it is more like a wonderful museum with loads of relics from the marine past with lovely intimate cosy places to sit with your dog if you wish :) staff are very friendly and the homemade soup and bread I had for lunch was very nice with real ales available...

I have been here many times in the past and whenever I go back, it's always someone different running the place. No exception this time. The waitress showed us to our table and took our drinks order. They arrived quickly and she then took our food order. I had chicken in a mushroom and blackberry sauce. It was very tasty.... More

The Admiral Benbow is a great place to eat or meet friends. It has a long history and is more like a theme park than a pub. They also accept dogs which is a bonus. We have eaten here a couple of times now and the food is usually good, if a bit overpriced. Burgers and steak and ale pie... More

Wonderful atmosphere in quirky surroundings, just like dining on board an old ship. Valentine's night was made special by the complimentary glass of bubbly and a red rose and the food was really lovely.

5 stars for being a friendly local pub serving good beer and short but excellent daily menu . We had the freshest , biggest megrim sole with fantastic Cornish new potatoes . The pub is ancient and combines this with a fairground approach to decor (in a good way you have to see it to get it)

The service was second to none, warm, friendly and swift The food was traditional/quirky....with a twist and plenty of it The atmosphere was something to savour and return to again The location was a bit eventful as you have to park on the street. Best used in the evening when you can park as and where!

We had a family birthday meal at the Benbow and as always the food was really top notch and very good value for money - always reasonably priced. The Bruschetta starter was delicious and piping hot and the Olives and dips were plentiful and very tasty. The Benbow burger was highly recommended by two of our group, as were the... More
